Go2GroundThat is a fine Red dog,I believe the reddest I've seen,without being a chocolate.How Is he bred? bryanm45 787 Posted May 1, 2013 Author Report Share Posted May 1, 2013 Right seen a thread on here for black dogs, let me see some red dogs so I can see what mine will look like, I'll start you of with my pup @ seven weeks, pick him up next weekend. the chocolate pups a cracker mate what ways it bred if i'm honest i've forgot was in blokes house for an hour chatting about dogs, was looking over dam when i asked but cant remember what he said, i wouldnt have know them anyway, dam was a cracker, lovely broad head, nice and stong, 6 pups altogether, 2 died at birth, i got his phone number and i'll ring him and ask again, was looking over his 9 lurchers, very nice bloke, very helpful loved talking about his dogs, dont we all. dytkos 17,783 Posted May 1, 2013 Report Share Posted May 1, 2013 because of the gun,s on the hunt with the coulour of the dog easy mistaken for fox Yeah I get that I wouldn't work red dogs around guns either but luckily for me in this part of the world hunt terrierwork isn't carried out like that so I'm free to use whatever dog does the job regardless of colour. When I was in scotland & hounds marked to ground, it was my choice who was & who was not at the hole, if there wasn't anyone I trusted, I'd do it myself. Things go wrong when u let any old fool at a hole.. When a dog shows at a hole, red or not, it will usually shake itself. A fox won't but it wouldn't be the first time the hounds have chopped a terrier, or some numpty with a gun had shot one Cheers, D. 2 Quote Link to post
