Madcowz 0
We have just got a salt lick as well after noticing that the ferts went mental when I went in with very sweaty hands and arms. Our neighbour muttered something about salt rocks for the calves, jumped on his quad bike and was back in 10 minutes with two large rocks containing salt that they use for the cows. These aren't the white blocks you see but actual stone with salt in it. /Mad Quote Link to post
stubby 175
quote;Whats the salt lick for the answer;is a LICK made of salt as mad say's, ferts always like to lick the salt that is in our sweat, so this way its there, should they want it 24/7 Quote Link to post

Get an empty wine bottle.. :alcoholic: ...fill with water.... Ferrets can't knock it about and you can refresh their water with out having to disturb your stinkers.. stubby 175
dont get me wrong, its a good alternative, but i presume to change the water the whole fitting needs to come of the cage, be turned upside down, re-filled then re put back on wire, plus it has an open water drinker, i can see it getting filled with sawdust the way the little stinkers run around the cage, meaning cleaning constantly at least my idea uses a normal bottle/drinker in a cheap to make wire cage, no mess, no constant cleaning Quote Link to post
FUBAR 0
Oh I like that one 'mike the dog' Quote Link to post
MikeTheDog 153
The drinker stays put Stubby, you just lift the bottle out and refill. When it has collected too much algae sling it and use another empty bottle ..Yea the collect some wood chips but they aint harmfull, no worse than rinking outta dirty puddle Biggest draw back, fecking dog sometimes takes a drink from 'em... ... Kay 3,709
I simply join 2 medium width cable ties through the weldmesh front untill you have the two ends through where i then put in the bottle to get a secure but not tight fit, jion together & cut off the excess cheap & cheerfull just like me Quote Link to post
