Outlaw Pete 2,224
Question - "Were there any puncture wounds to the neck?" Reply - "under neck eaten to spin" What would do that ? See? Someone's asked a pretty irrelevant question; What have puncture wounds to the neck got to do with anything? And someone replies that the throat was eaten out. So? What has That even got to do with the initial question? Sit and think about it for a minute: 'Were there marks on the neck?'. Answer: There Was no neck!' (So, how are we to know there were ever any wounds to the neck?) What would do that? Having examined your question? That's pretty easy. " What would eat the flesh and stuff away from the throat to the spine? " Shit loads of things would. Dogs, Foxes. Badgers. Various birds. Rats. What killed that foal? Seeing as its legs appear untouched? My best guess? Colic? As for what then ate it ....? Collies? See; I am a believer. But, I don't let bullshit baffle or blind me

Oldskool 29
i have lamped alot all over the uk and i do recall one night driving somewhere out the way in wales and a cat jumping out in the road and to the other side which i believed to be a lynx i could cleary see the tuffs of fur on the ears and stumb tail i didnt actually know what it was untill i researched it later but when i found it i had no doubt that is what i saw. i also remember lamping south of england with a friend and seeing something walking the hedge line for 2 or 3 seconds i am unsure of what but it looked large and was walking in that cat like way. Outlaw Pete 2,224
Anyone know what a typical cat kill looks like? Depends, mate. Type of cat. Type of kill. But, there's some points to be expected as indicative. I've looked at a LOT of photo's of slaughtered sheep in my time. Once I spotted the tell tail sign of what Only a cat tends to do. And, I don't mind admitting it; I f**king shit myself! It was just so irrefutable. As much as I tried to refute and even get it refuted by international experts. Put simply? I was looking at shit that Dogs, foxes, badgers, rats, birds, Human F**king Beings simply Are Not equipped to do. Something only cats are known for. And this wasn't done by any moggy either. Far too big. This was a 'Large' cat.
fitchet 788
I didnt really bielive in this stuff at all. I mean your qverage moggy can look very large at a distance let alone when your imagination is running wild. And you wouldve thought somebody somewhere would have either got a decent shot at one with camera or gun, But me and a friend were out in a local wood we had permission to thin out the pigeon population with the air guns when we heard the bleat of an upset munty. We walked the hedgerow towards it but it stopped. We found an area with fur and sighns of something tangling with the deer. I dont think it was a dog as it was very silent and whatever it was hadnt pursued its quarry as we sat and listened for abit. We mentioned it to the landowner who ended up telling us hed seen a black catlike figure with a long tail trailing behind it. I googled it and came across a film in wich a big black panther had been shot by officials after it had somehow got into a caravan !!! But to my thinking it was aemi tame. I also wondered why is a big cat always a black panther in reported sightings?? I personally think certain collecters can still buy these animals and i think maybe were got rid of for some reason ??? Who knows but it is very interesting.

Paid 935
I would say a dog, as you can see the claw indents.
Outlaw Pete 2,224
Socks; I've managed to off load that photo and look at on my full screen here. I believe, in the original post, you said the one on the right was your bitch? It would seem obvious that was a slip of the tounge though as the one on the right is obviously by far the larger. Anyway, the short answer is, as Paid points out; There's very obvious claw marks. That, as a rule of thumb, denotes other than a cat. And, from this point, I'm not going to try to bullshit you, or sneak off to Google and come back refreshed and spouting expertise. It's been years since I was active in this sphere. I've probably forgotten more than I'll ever learn again. But, I still retain a basic sense of the shapes. Dogs tend to appear like a triangle, arrow head or even diamond. They err towards that impression. Cats appear more rounded. There's also something about the shapes of the heel pads. And something about a straight line across the toes. I can't remember the details now. Help yourself to a Google, if that peeks your interest. It's all on there.

Bwlchgwyn Wrexham Area This Foal was new born this morning on the Matheron Stud and at some point during the day while out in the field, it has been killed. With large wounds to its neck. This foal was by no means small and sharing the field with its mother and many other horses, what ever killed this foal must have been large and attacking during day light hours." foul eaten around 6 - 8 miles from mine, few comments about more kills in the area and sightings of big cats :hmm: doesn't look like it's been killed there the ground is very clean around the carcass not even a tuft of fur
Tiercel 6,986
Not a really big cat. Run Over, or found at the side of the road? TC
socks 32,253
I thought the same about the claws but there were loads of rabbit prints and deer prints in the same spot ... There were patches of ice and snow so could the cat ( if it was a cat ) not have had its claws out to hunt/keep its footing ?????
