baw 4,360
If you don't vote ,don't moan .....!! They've got you well brainwashed. If you don't believe any of the lying b*****ds you've just to take part in there system anyway and round and round the merry go goes...... I wish everyone who says they hate politicians etc had the balls no not vote any of them in, then we'd see real change. But while folk vote, nothing will change. If no one voted the ones that are in stay in, how does that help.Everyone should vote, vote for an independant, tactical voting is the order of the day. Loosen the stranglehold the main parties have on the nation. If no one voted they would shit themselves from a public revolt. Imagine the message going out to the world if absolutely no one voted? THAT my friend is the only way we will see change. I imagine they would think "excellent, nobody cares anymore, we'll just continue doing what the f**k we want". To revolt people have to care very passionately about their cause......... if that was a real risk we would see a rise in voting in my opinion. Voting for who? Ukip? Labour, Tories? They are all intermingled I.e the same. Imagine they were countries at war instead of political parties. Labour France, ukip Italy, Tories Germany. We are at war with Germany but half of Italy is run with Germans. France the same, who do we side with? They are out for themselves everyone of them. While everyone votes, this will remain so. Folk are voting a party to run this country blind. No one knows how ukip will do running it. Yes they have good ideas but so what. As for the other 2, they've proved they can't run it and you want me to vote?
baw 4,360
Joe public gets brought down as incompetent and needs to be ruled. It's joe public who built the roads, the railways, the airports. the best brain surgeons, mathematicians, doctors, engineers, businessmen, teachers, builders, etc are ALL joe public. Why do we have a bunch of silver spoon fed idiots running us and we all feel the need to vote them in. Joe public should be running the country. No vote I say.
Paid 935
In principle, i agree, in practise, it will never work, as party supporters will always vote. You can not fight and win a cause with apathy as you're main weapon.

I don't vote not because I'm lazy its because I have no confidence in the current system. It doesn't mean I don't care about what goes on, its just I've seen the same bull all my life and it won't change while we all buy into this need to vote one of them in. That's a joke, right so joe public runs the country........ what if I don't agree with the way he's running the country, what then? Another Joe public says "I can do a better job and this is how I would do it blah blah....". So then who get's to run the country, which one, the one I agree with or the one you agree with? So we vote................ and hey presto we have politicians again. It's like politics is some dirty word ffs! scothunter 12,609
You need an elected body to run our affairs.Thats a given. Its just finding one who has OUR best interests at heart. we are seeing a major change in British politics and not before time imo. They now realise that the 3 main parties being the only ones in the running is over,They will need to be sincere and bring about change,Change that we can see.In other words they will need to work for us to keep there privellaged jobs. Pedwar 320
We desperately need to get out of the EU, they are bleeding us dry, we pay almost 10 billion a year into the EU and they wont even let us boot out terrorists and dangerous criminals; the UK as an example. So, this is how it goes:• €13.8bn is the total raised from the UK. This includes money raised in duties within the UK and passed on to the EU. The UK receives a 25% fee of €850.6m for this. Within that…• €11.3bn is the UK's national contribution, which is largely based on the size of our economy. It also includes other adjustments and €2.5bn from VAT• -€3.6bn in rebates negotiated by Margaret Thatcher in 1984, called the 'UK correction' in the official data. This is paid for by other EU member states. Mostly France, which pays €965.9bn towards our rebate

True, trouble is that government has gone so far beyond its remit that it needs to be rolled back in droves.......the only basic purpose of a government is : Security domestic and international Infrastructure to build and maintain roads etc General administration of a country's affairs That's all!! They buy their way into running your life by means of social security, national health etc until you become dependant on them like a junkie is to drugs We badly need to get back to a more libertarian system where individuals decide how they live their life independently from the state, not have the state telling us how to live every aspect of our life !! UKIP is the closest thing we have got to this......don't waste your chance to be a bit more free than we will ever get to be under the 3 main parties !!
WILF 46,567
Thats the problem to many laws passed by greedy corrupt individuals using the name Politician to enslave the masses so that they can ponce off the Country to do as they please and live in splendor whilst many live in poverty and squalor. Common sense rules along the lines of (dont laugh ) the 10 Commandments is all thats needed. We all know Right from Wrong, Good from Evil. We dont need the thousands of laws Pushed on us that we have. We never asked or voted for these laws. And till we as a Country and a Population stand up to this Joke we call British Democracy nothing will change. The Priveledged Corrupt few will get Richer as the rest of us suffer and get Poorer. We are Well Over Taxed and took the Piss out of No end and not a jot is getting done about it. Well said that man
sussex 5,777
Baw I did just what you advocate..i never voted for twenty odd years on the basis they were all tossers and none of them spoke for me or my ideals , were did it get me ..? The traitor Blair. No vote leaves the people in power right were they want to be , in power. There is a system as much as we don't like it , it wont change by not voting .As for politicians I still don't like any of them I just dislike some more than others and vote for the party that will hurt the main parties the most in the vain hope things will get better. Im not holding my breath

It's pretty easy to focus on the rotten ones and plain ignore decent ones, where's the money in selling news about decent politicians? Sigh........ Ok, I'll try and explain what I mean. Right now lets say you vote labour, they win. They are made up of say 30 members, who all get hand picked for certain rolls. E.g, mrs smith, you can run the transport, mr jones, your in charge of the health service. Babera, your on foreign affairs..... Barbera fucks up, mr jones gets caught fiddling his taxes.... Right, cabin reshuffle, babera, you take over the health service, mr jones, your on foreign affairs..... They spend a fortune on advisers telling them how to do there job, this is what your voting for. Now, I'm suggesting do away with the lot and let people who have been in the chosen industries run that given sector. It's not rocket science, joe public should be running the country he knows about it more than them. All a politician knows is how to talk hot air, that's it.
scothunter 12,609
i get your point baw,but its unworkable. we need to get rid of the old school boy network, get kids intereted in politics and convince them its not a closed shop and they could bring about change.now though,no ordinary man cares they all think they are overprivellaged crooks, and they are right, but no c**t else wants thier job. Born Hunter 17,751
Baw, I get what you mean now. BUT do you really think that politics is the same as industry? It requires a different person with the savvy for beurocracy and democracy. Also, If I'm not mistaken the Secretaries in charge of each department do usually have history and experience in the relavent industries.
