Yo airgunners! had another walk round the cattle sheds this evening to try to whack a more of the rabbits hanging round them, it tickles me that there's maybe 20 cage traps, not mine, and the rabbits just walk round them  So on with the job, a quick walk round to see whats moved and look for overtimers, all clear, I found a nice little spot out of the wind, the only spot, very nice I thought, but those little nettles sting just as much as the big'uns, as my stinging b***ocks bear testement to, and my knees  Think the wind slowed things down a bit, was going to leave this little job until the weekend, but the weather man says its going to be grim, so its moved forward to make good use of the sun, while it lasts. Any way, I was just about bored picking my nose, when the bunnies started to move around, they were a bit skittish, dont know why, but I was confident I would bag something. Something caught my eye shaking some nettles in the dyke in front of me, a nice doe sat scanning the feild for movement, so I gave it something to look at, a .22 Superdome :D WHACK! and over it went doing the worst rolly polly I've ever seen. Thinking along the lines that it was going to be a bit of a grueler, I left it where it lay, I figured that if I went over and picked it up, I may well spook anything else that saw me pick up his fallen comrade ;) A hour passed, I was all picked out, and getting ready to chuck it in, when another bunny came out to see where his mate had gone, he sat there with a wet eye staring at his dead mate, so I thought the only fair thing to do was whack him too :D So I did. The wind was starting to get up, sand and soil was begining to blow about, so I picked up what I'd shot, and prepared to get off home, a quick scan round to see if a hatrick was on the cards, but nothing stood out, I emptyed the chamber, gutted the rabbits, and set off home. Other things of note were a couple of nicely fettled cock Wheatears, wish I had taken my camera instead of using my crap vintage phone, more so when a nice sized barn owl put in an appearance, but sodds law says that if I had taken the camera, then all that would have been about would be spuggies  Anyway, end of day pick looked like this, a fresh'un for me and one for the ferrets.
