This is what the antis are peddling. The pro hunt lobby needs to be more active in countering anti propaganda.

 

There's nothing pro-hunt about burning a dog or Badger baiting as far as I can see there's no propaganda that needs answering just a case of cruelty or a horrific accident and a lost dog.

You are right of course, there is nothing pro-hunt (by hunt I mean anybody whose pursues wild animals by any means, rather than just fox hunting with hounds) about burning a dog or badger baiting. However, it is negative publicity to do with working terriers and the countryside. Articles like this spread misinformation and will lead to the general public linking this sort of behaviour with lawfully conducted legal terrier work. In posting this article I was attempting to highlight the lies and half truths the anti faction generate.

 

I am aware of the excellent work done by Barry and the WTF, the FMWTC and other similar organisation, which resulted in the 'Game Keepers' exemption to the Hunting Ban (the reason terrier work in the UK is allowed legally to continue). I have read recently that the Hawk Board have been trying to get falconry made into a World Heritage Sport, which means any further legal controls in the UK would be extremely difficult to legislate. I wonder if something similar could be done for terrier work?
