Guest SHOT
For those that like to lamp regular with the dogs are there many of you that use a night vision monocular/scope etc to aid you. personaly ive never used one,nor do i know anybody that has i can imagine it to be a very handy tool for the serious freezer filler, but then im assuming you can see a fair way with these things. cheers . Bosun11 537
Few of the boy's got 'em now, they recon their good, specially if you got nervey foxes, only been out once with one, when my mate first got his.......... squeekin away, he's lookin through it an we are askin what he can see....... 'any foxes yet' says me, 'no but there's a feckin chicken comin up the field'.... ....'Eh!'.......He was convinced it was a chicken till it was about 25 yards off an i flicked on the beam......FOX!...bang, game over! What he was seein was the white chest of the fox coming forward, he was convinced it was a chicken!! He got some stick that night i'll tell ya! Quote Link to post
alimac 882
sounds to me as if your pals have just gone out and bought something for a few hundred quid and as it said NIGHT VISION there expecting to see as if it were day light.... wrong, as with most tecnology you get what you pay for, pay peanuts get monkeys...... i bought a pbs7 cyber eye last year, flip up head mounted etc, just the job when lamping with the dogs... was deflated with its performannce until the end of last season when i scraped the unit mounted ir75 (infa red) and bought a ir filter for the blitz.... now i can pick eyes up at well over 300 yards and make out what it is at prob 250..... f...king expencive but damn good, alot to carrt around on top of your usual stuff, but def the kit to put extra stuff in the game book, esp if your area is heavlly lamped.... Bosun11 537
Your probably right Alimac, I'm a feckin tecnophobe an wouldn't know whats good an whats not, an yep they did pay a few hundred quid for 'em which to me is a lot of feckin dough for a gamble! They say they have now got the hang of 'em an have had good results. Quote Link to post
bill88 6
Always dreamt of having one,so i bought a cheap one (gen 1).If i'm honest,it was a waste of money.Range was about 35 yards, and i was putting batteries in it every time i went out.Have since been out with my mate who has a decent one,but you still have to use a bit of fieldcraft. Guest SHOT
basicaly id be wasting my money with the gen1 stuff then, thanks lads. i did have my eye on this gen1 set, i was hoping it would spare me having to keep switching on the lamp in certain spots and when out for a specific game. http://www.focusonprice.com/cart.php?targe...&substring= Edited August 5, 2007 by SHOT Quote Link to post
