Nite Hunter Ir300 Users ?

Bought one of the Nite Hunter IR300 laser illuminators recently and I'm getting very poor results with it

 

It offers slightly greater distance than the little Odicforce unit I started out with, but the Odicforce is infinitely clearer than the IR300, which seems very grainy and, if I try and adjust focus, several large dark blobs appear

 

I'm guessing this means the IR300 has a problem because the footage I've seen of others using it is nothing like the results I am getting.

 

I recorded some footage earlier this evening with the IR300 which I can put online tomorrow once I've lifted it off the camera.

 

I've tried the same camcorder/IR300 combination on three gun/scope outfits including Hawke Panorama and Nikon Prostaff scopes and I'm getting the same problems across the board. Removing the IR300 and fitting the old Odicforce unit also removes the problem.

 

 

 

Any users out there who can throw any comments in, positive, negative, other ?
