Anyone Know What Eggs These Are ??

Recommended Posts

Out for a walk this afternoon with the kids and pup and my lad found these eggs in a tree. So I took a quick pic and we moved away but not sure what they are. They are well hidden in the tree about 2 / 3 feet from the ground. They look pretty big not far of the size of a chicken egg :?

We'll just keep an eye from a distance see if we can see what visiting the nest

Up a tree, no feathers in the nest, lots of fur round the tree it must be squirrel eggs

What colour egg, what was the nest made out of, what type of tree, pic ?

Size of a hen egg want to change it to Starling with a sore arse ?.

Cant see very well, but the lack of down in the nest, and the few number of eggs, rules out a duck I would think, Were the eggs white and quite round? Looks like theres 4-6 eggs there so could be an owl bud. Is it in a rotten tree by the way?

Owl eggs are normally white bud, but the darker colour, could be because their due to hatch?

They have only been there 24 - 48 hour tops as we had a look around the tree yesterday / day before

Have to keep an eye on it bud, fresh blue eggs suggests a duck, but the lack of a feathered nest says different. How many eggs are there, is 4+ eggs not a lot for a bird to fire out in 48 hrs? Interesting though, I`ll have to keep an eye on this thread. Some times its hard to say without seeing the bird..
