Recommended Posts

I mentioned whippets when u said my statement was rubbish in reference too sizes of dogs like I said as a general rule of thumb a dog needs height and weight too achieve results on certain quarry on certain type of land like the original question about catch ratio needing a certain type of dog for certain type of land will have a higher catch ratio

In my opinion,...the hallmark of a successful and long lived hunting dog, is its innate ability to adapt....   The same goes for a hunting man... ..

if the dog runs the land a lot it will adapt to it my dog runs that sort of land every day and can do its job i can take it on sheep fields on the lamp it will do its job and catch the more different

What, like how does the type of ground run on, affect the dogs performance, as in catch rate etc?

gotta hunt where the quarry is, the dog will adapt with a little practise although accidents will be inevitable, most of my ground is fairly rough

What whould you think about a 3/4 welsh collie gray on that ground tho

Matt

3/4 collie or 3/4 grey?

3/4 collie mate

A 3/4 collie would suss running on that ground easily but it would lack a little initial pace imo and may get a bit sickened.
