Wxm 1,638
Anyone tried it ?? There's a couple of ponds / pools on land I walk the dogs on and I've looked around them and they don't seem to have anything in them and the water seems to be there all year round so won't / don't dry up, they arnt huge about 20 - 30 ft round and adout 3 ft deep but maybe more, It's not for fishing or anything just when taking the kids across and past the pools and they could see the fish and that. Ideation 8,216
I was thinking myself the other day, we have a few decent enough ponds on the estate, with a bit of a flow through them. . . . not that deep though, and probably not enough flow for trout. Would love to chuck a few fish in them.
pip1968 2,490
most ponds you see in the countryside were created from dropped bombs from the war when pilots never had the fuel to get back so resorted to lightening the load, you will find that most if not all of these ponds will have fish in them as birds distribute fish eggs that they may have eaten or got attached to their feathers.we have plenty of these ponds were i live and ill guarante that they all hold fish of some sort just cause you cant see them dont mean they arnt there
RubyTex 1,957
Couple of small drainage ponds round here that would be perfect and have a stream running through for aeration, shame the kids hang about round them chucking all sorts of shite in....not worth stocking, but there are fish in them somehow
