low plains drifter 10,291
I walked about eight miles a few nights ago on the land where I first started coursing, the place used to be crawling with hares,I only seen one,and that was put up by my ten year old dog, travelled a little way down the road this afternoon to some hill farm/heather moorland, and there was hares all over the place, dogs were going mad on their leads Quote Link to post
blackgreyhound 206
running addiction.i had been done for hares several times before that plus deer poaching and i did not fancy some more porridge.my freedom is worth more than that .besides which .i didnt think the dog was going to make the grade .it gets very cold in stafford in the winter especially when all of the windows have been knocked out Quote Link to post
buster gonads 862
Hares, or should i say leverets, dont like cold damp weather, it kills them, imo thats why there arnt the numbers about that there used to be, we all know the weather we,v had the last couple of years, shite. I,v been on some of my old courseing grounds and sat with my back to the wind and woods and seen them coming out in the last hour of day light, they are there but not in the numbers they were, the ones that survived are the ones that like to take to cover, atb, buster. 1 Quote Link to post
