deanflute 550
Hi, Me and the family are thinking of getting a couple of hens but we're wanting to hatch our own. Does anybody have an incubator for sale or even to hire for a month?
lawrence 657
invest in a small Brinsea mate, believe me, you will want to use it again, its very addictive.
bobcullen79 1,495
If your after eggs bud, I`d buy a few point of lay poulets in, some of the pure breed eggs available, might not yeild eggs this year. Wrong time of year for a cheap incubator, (Spring), most people will have already bought them, and plan on using them. Im still on my first incubator, a Fiem smart 20, and I`ve hatched loads with it. I wouldnt read to deep into humidity levels if all your after is some backyard hens, raptors or parrot`s, then do...
blackdug 90
I have two for sale ...I will put up the make and model tomorrow ...I have about eight hens that are all broody and becoming a nightmare for me as I do not want chicks this year and if you were closer I would give you one ... to be truthfull getting a hen to raise them for you is so much easier
deanflute 550
Thanks for the replies, the main reason for wanting to hatch our own was for educational purposes for the daughter really, we want her to see how the chick hatches and progresses. There's plenty if pol hens around me for sale but as I said we would rather hatch them.

deanflute 550
I've just had a sudden thought and a major lapse of concentration on my behalf! No point in incubating and hatching our own eggs if we only want a couple of laying hens! It would just be my luck to end up with cocks everytime. What is the earliest chicks can be sexed?
