Baw were fed up of hearing about your egg theiving days as a youngster, told you before it's not big and its not clever... Lol

Never tried a goose egg either.....canny beat a good bacon roll with a duck egg.... Lovely!!!

Tried it? Ya c**t am picking about 1000 eggs a day at the minute an fed up looking at the b*****ds. But there will be about 6 double yokers getting scrambled just shortly mate...;-)

Same here at work theres a loch in the middle of it and there seems to be three drakes for every duck they seem to nest everywhere well away from the water ,you know theres a nest nearby as there two or three drakes sitting beside a bush . you often see them soon after there hatched but they never make it to adult hood , due to the gulls and magpies

the reason you see very few ducklings survive on some lakes is the drakes. watch them, they will drown the ducklings , and get the hen laying again. we have started putting nest tubes up in our ponds to help the mallards nest away from predators. has anybody else had any sucess with these?
