baw 4,360
Nothing gets my heart racing like a good hunt. You don't get a hunt lamping. I love the dazzler, but by god do I love that moment when the dogs pick up and switch on and the quary lifts and all hell breaks lose. Makes you feel like a kid, whooping and hollering as the dogs make chase, or standing dead quiet in awe as your charges, charge on. It doesnt even matter if you catch. It's a hunt and by god i love it.  This will probably get some backs up but f**k it back in the day when it was legal to hunt hare, I used to love early morning mooches when there was a blanket of snow fell the night before. All the fresh tracks, then you'd see hare tracks. You'd follow them meandering about, then purposely heading in a straight line.... Off you'd go scanning the horizon wondering where they'd take you. All of a sudden they'd stop..... You'd look around wondering where they were, start slowly moving out looking at lumps and clumps, looking for a clue...... There under a small tree your eyes meet his..... WHOOOOSH, explosion of snow and he's off, dogs in hot persuit, f***ing priceless now waiting on the running 2 dogs in snow pish 2 Quote Link to post

Neoleaver 55
Dusk and dawn for me, not as productive as lamping but I'm not in it for the numbers. Just something about being out with dogs when the sun's just rising or setting...perfect. Quote Link to post
