Im sure i read a thread about poodle lurchers years ago, and they made fantastic lurchers. The poodle has very good intelligence, is built not much different to a grey, more so than the bull, wheaten, and some collies. It also had (in the right poodle) good prey drive.

I met someone recently contemplating a poodle sire for her deerhoundx. They are technically working dogs aren't they? And reputed to be very intelligant and athletic. Get over your manly prejudices, it might make a good dog!!!

I've seen a Poodle x Whippet..amazing little dog it was, it was retrieving alongwith Labs/Springers etc on a shoot..it was as fast as anything and very disciplined...i guess it would be a Whoodle!!!

my mates mrs shows poodles and he crosses them with spaniels(spoodles) and labs (labradoodles) they sell for extra ordinary prices and one guy has trained the labradoodle to the gun !

 

apparently poodles dont cast hairs wich makes them the ideal dogs for people with alargies ect

well if you ask me theres enough crosses about without introducing others theres still loads off shit about with the crosses that folks have been breeding for decades why not better them first ...jmo

Read up on the standard poodle and you will see its a working dog. This x might be useful to those who need things fetchin out of the pond

One of the smartest lookin dogs i've ever clapped eyes on was a standard poodle, shaved down short, fantastic shape to it, didn't know what it was an had to ask the owner as i'd only seen 'em with those stupid feckin show cuts. This dog was also a French import from workin lines.

Poodle x greyhound...... Just sommat about a weirdo......
