neil82 1,080 Posted April 19, 2013 Report Share Posted April 19, 2013 what are these like as a all rounder im after getting one, for work and general what are they like for doing long distance driving and off road ? what are they like for petrol and general maintenance? are the build to take abit of stick long distance, no way (unless you like old landies) not good at speed limits and a bit bouncy (short wheelbase), general maintainance is not that bad, get yourself a code reader for when/if the fault light pops up but mainly its lamda sensor or crankshaft position sensor at fault, main mechanical problem is steering shake under braking, worn kingpin bearings are the main culprit but if changing them makes no difference then use the shims issued by Suzuki to preload the bearings (bodge to me, but they think its the way to fix it) or fit a steering damper, watch for rust under the rear seats, not done an MOT test on one over 5 years old that hasn't needed welding there, fails as its too close to the rear seat belt mounts, apart from that the Suzuki petrol engine cars seem to be pretty good, just pricy on parts but all jap stuff is the same 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
