The greyhound is one of the fastest animals on the planet. This is why people use them for dog racing. People are fascinated with speed, whether that's greyhounds, horses, cheetahs or Usain Bolt. Spee

If I had a bitch that lacked speed would I breed it to a greyhound?...... No! If I had a bitch that lacked stamina would I breed it to a saluki?...... No!   If I had a bitch that lacked any one of

The dogs that are killing good hares on the big land, generally, can catch them anywhere......they're going to have the speed and the coursing brain for sure...... The average lurcher ain't going to

To all you guys thinking Salukis are so great and lets all use them in breeding lurchers stop and think why do people add greyhound to Salukis! End of story there is a reason we use greyhounds and not these paps of salukis :censored:

Think you will find its Salukis added to the greyhound to improve them but then you irish always do things arse ways round

So what does it bring to the table a weak ugly yoke that and its good for is hares and what good is it to you when they are banned! yah i taught so :whistling:

. Yes there will be dogs that can't catch on them but there will be equal if not more good fen dogs can't catch elsewhere.

That's a big statement to make......have you come to that conclusion from watching dogs run on both types of land?

The real un's kill em just as well anywhere, they just few and far between, but theres deffo dogs that excel on certain land types and woukld maybe perform differnetly on paddocks etc if they ran em, these maybe more the average types the majority of lads own, good honest grafter types

I like the way you say real uns are far and few between lol.

I mean dogs that can be taken to the very best land be it black or massive open seed and slipped at 80yds onto hares and kil the hares consistently week in week out, but then also taken to the arse end of nowhere small tight paddocks fences barwire, machinery lay about, rocks, uneven land ,woods copses etc and still consistently kill nmbers, thems deffo few and far between, the likes of foxy lucky blondie etc there far more average days sport types about and a shit lad more shit ones
I know what you meant mate, you just don't hear many admitting it too often on here. Folk like Darcy are lucky enough that every dog they see is a good un as you described.

No, not at all....I've seen many dogs that were no good, and I have never had a decent hare dog, what i would call a good one anyway. BUT i have seen my fair share of dogs running in the flesh.... You stick to your theories and being a cyber hunter Baw, it's a cold, wet world out there all winter long, you could take your keyboard with you but it might get wet....

I will see if I can post you up an Asda bag to cover it up,...no need to thank me, that's the generous kinda chap I am....

 quality Darcy, sheer quality  I do find it ironic however your form of attack is because I post on a hunting site. Not because you slag me on the said forum, even though that's funny in itself but more the fact you spend wasaaaaaay more time on here than me. Which reminds me, I need to watch the wizard of oz when I get home, the scarecrows my favourite, can't mind his song though....... You brag you see all these dogs running and that makes you superior....... I used to go watch the Waterloo cup, I never knew that made me an expert greyhound courser :D think I might write a book about it..... Look, I'm just a humble lurcher man, I know your the field sport god. How can I compete with someone who has devoted there whole life to air guns and wrote a book about it, impossible. How could I compete with someone who has devoted there life to catching deer with dogs and wrote a book about it, impossible. How could I compete with someone who has devoted there life to deer stalking and wrote a book about it, impossible. How could I compete with someone who has devoted there entire life to hare coursing and wrote a book about it, I couldn't. I'll just plod along doing what I do, remaining anonymous and looking up to all these great men who have devoted their life's to the subjects I mentioned and passed on all those lifetime experiences for us to enjoy.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Actually, I've done a bit of a search and found a waterproof case for your iPod, so problemo solved!

You could then critisize people from in the field, actually in 'real time' ... that would be great. Then again, there's the cold to worry about..so maybe it's best if you give it a miss... dreaming up theories is far more of a comfortable option... cup 'O tea, feet up, Hob Nobs at the ready and away you go....

Looking forward to celebrating your 10,000th post.....will you get there before me I wonder?? And in such a short space of time....you've done well, very well...I'm the first in line to admit it.

Still, I bet them all put together don't amount to the hours you spend on here, yes hours, not posts...... HOURS  still, good to see you haven't grown tired of my bait, some of the old baits are still the best ;)
