now then lads i have 2 springers mother and son and ill be going away to newton rigg in sept and will be bringing them....

 

my thing is at the minute the son is too young to be a problem when she comes in heat, hes still got his bollocks and shes not been done i dont want to have any accidents with them being together ,

 

what would you lads suggest do you think i could have a problem if she comes in heat while im there and they are in the same kennel

You'll have a problem simply because he's an entire male and she's an undressed bitch, nothing whatsoever to do with being mother and son.

Snip him or neuter her or kennel seperately, easy peasy lemon squeezy.

My dog humped his daughter when she was on heat - 6 months after he'd had his bollocks off! So i'd say if your bitch comes into heat and they're both locked in together you'll have an issue...

yeah, iv been thinking about getting one of em done anyway...

 

but which is it better to have done the male or the bitch???

Well do you intend breeding from one or the other in the future, if you do then get the other one done, if it's neither, you choose and if you don't know which, seperate them.

if it was up to me id just have them separate but ill only be getting one kennel space, so both will have to be together

 

but i think im just gonna get the bitch done, iv had a great litter out of her but it will save alot of pain in the arse if shes done
