Ah thats whats wrong with me ! i must unknowingly be getting myself ready for the rut cos my midriff seems to have expanded like that fallow bucks these last few months

Ita a fallow buck and yes, that does look like it has swelled a bit, but freshly killed that night, you can tell by the blood.

How many did it take to track it?

 

This time of the year, the fallow bucks are preparing them selfs slowly for the rut, but, not untill september, will they reach maximum weght. Then they are bloody heavy.

Awsome, we have Fallow over here and the fallow rut is allready over. Can you tell me what type of dogs you where walking when you found it. I have a deerxgreyxwolf that i am keen as to get onto the deer when she matures abit more.

ok lads thanks for the replys it was a 5/3 3/8 bull bitch only turned 16 months and a 5/8 grey 2/8 bull 1/8 deerhound dog at the same age they both are just started on fox(i live in north ireland) and had never seen a deer i will try and get some pics up for you. cheers chucky
