when it was first sold it was purchased by the NUM as a rehabilitation centre for ex miners, the the NHS took it on as prity much the same thing, in the 901s (i think) it was brought by the mussies

some gaf for a hangman to buy.he must have got a few x marks the spot were the loots buried of his clients before he dropped em.

it belonged to his family, if you could see the fooking state of it now you wouldnt think it was the same place :cray: my mates grandmar was a maid there

hung over 400 lol.he bought a boozer when he retired.he had a sign erected.no hanging about the bar. :laugh: funny cxxt :laugh:

 

 

My old man used to go in there when he lived in Manchester.

It was called "Help the poor straggler" which was known locally as help the poor strangler, seemingly :D

Pierrepoint's father and uncle were executioners before him - easy to say you'd gladly pull the lever/flick the switch etc but I reckon it'd be a bit of a head f**k being an executioner...quite a few of them were off their heads at the time of their deaths...and one or two committed suicide...

 

Be one thing to take a mans life in the heat of the moment...but it'd be another thing altogether to do it in a clinically planned manner...too much time to think...but that's just my thoughts... :thumbs:
