Simoman 110
Heres the title fight, even I thought Slyvia at 6"8 would be too big for Couture, is Couture the greatest MMA fighter? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVnJqEUonqs...ted&search=
borderboy 80
this was ufc number??
mole catcher 1
what is it that makes Couture possible the best mma fighter? could it be his tremendous conditioning? could it be his all round abillity in the ring, both stand up and on the ground? could it be his hand speed? could it be the fact he is humble in both victory and defeat? For a man of his age fighting guys a good deal younger, he sure gives a very good account of himself showing brains over brawn will win through most of the time. Of course taking nothing away from Slyvia, for hes a class fighter as well, but i think Couture is a tall man standing umoung giants. Ive allways liked to watch his fights
Simoman 110
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3X2O3Mw6LiM Heres a few more KO's and some footage of another favourite of mine, Andrei Arlovski Your right fellas, Couture is adaptable and an inteligent fighter I think he possibly looked at Tim Slyvias recent fights and thought he could win by putting pressure on him, not standing toe to toe boxing and taking him down for some ground and pound. Without doubt a true MMA legend in my opinion Borderboy it was UFC
Kye 77
Randy is a great fighter, but a LITTLE more than a college wrestler!... Me, i cant STAND Tim Sylvia...if he was 5-10" and 170lbs, he wouldnt even be in the UFC..imo...as much as i like Randy, i think he would be killed buy Fedor...imo, Fedor is the greatest heavy weight MMA fighter to date...the man is a machine!.. Randy schooled Tim big time, and made him look foolish...Tim's punches are SOOO slow its painful to watch...i just 'aint keen on him, in fact he is the only MFS fighter i DONT like!..lol. Arlovski used to be one of my favourites, but his last few performances have left me wondering what the f**k has happened to him?...he used to be a killer, a real "Pit-Bull"...know he fights more like a bloody Border Collie,...to much thinking and not enough doing...he would be a better fighter back in the old days of the UFC when they didnt have a time limit...he may have done well in Pride as well, seems as there first round was 10 mins long... I dont think there is anyone that can match Fedor right now... Kye,..

Kye,.. Think Randy almost made it too the Olympic squad? Hopefully the old Andrei will return, he went through a stage of knocking people out in style , I like the collie quote Jay, am I right in saying Fedor is unbeaten? Edited to add, when will we see your name on the ufc card? Keep winning and it must happen
mole catcher 1
those of us that have stood in the ring know that a fighters game plan can change the moment we enter the ring. thats true on a fight to fight basis. but look at the mma scene. each month the game changes, first its a stand up fight, then its a ground game that wins and the world of the pro fighter is never an easy one to read so forget about the little lows in an inderviduals carrer. Orlovski is a fighter without a doubt but look what hes up against, its not that easy to stay focused in an arena thats on the world stage for a long period of time, like the track runner you train to optimise at a certain point on a given day in a given bout. Prolonged lenghts of trying to keep at that peek of your fitness can ruin your chances of gaining a shot at the title. thers so much more behind the scenes that even you as the fighter wont realise, things like the politics of the training team behind you, the lack of sponsership, your home life, they all without you knowing it have an effect on your performance in the ring. Have we seen the best of orlovski? no i doubt it, not by a long chalk
Kye 77
Hi Si,.. Fedor has ONE loss, and that was a Doctor stoppage, because he had a cut,..so its hardly a loss,...in every fans eyes he is un-beaten.. Andre Arlovski is a good fighter, but imo, he has gone to comerical...he shaves all his body hair off, and is to worried about going to clubs, and f*****g about with some dumb tart...you gotta remember the guys from Belarus, probably grew up in a shit hole town and had no money...so im guessing all the fanny and money is going to his head...imo, he will come around and realise that he has to knuckle down again... Randy Coutour was a gold medal winner in the marine cor squad, and has been an All American champ a bunch of times...he was also in the Olympics on two or three occasions if im not mistaken...he is a GREAT guy and has a great camp with Matt Lindland and Dan Henderson (Hendo is one of my favourite fighters of all time) called Team Quest. As good as Randy is, imo, he wouldnt last long against Fedor... Some good thoughts Mole Catcher,...imo, todays MMA scene is far different from that of old...you cant be a Boxer, or a BJJ fighter anymore...you have to be a Mixed Martial Artist...you have to be able to wrestle, subs, kicks, strikes, clinch, everything...if anyone has seen the fight between Royce Gracie Vs Matt Hughes, Matt beat the shit outta Gracie, and everyone used to think Royce was the man...Royce is probably the worst fighter from the whole family...if you want a BJJ fighter, i have two words and one name for you..."Rickson Gracie"...he has fought over 300 fights and is undeafted...its hard to beleave, but it true...the man is cool as cucumber...hey, what about this for a fight, Rickson Vs Fedor... As for me in the UFC,..lol...bloody hell, thats a long shot, but if your gonna have a sight to set your eyes on, it may as well be the best target right?...maybe when ive had a few more fights i will send a tape into "The Ultimate Fighter" show...living in a house with 16 f*****g twats would be good eh?..lol. Kye,..
mole catcher 1
rickson gracie came and done a seminar at a bbj club i was training at, what a man. your right kye, no one strong point wins an mma fight these days. ive seen many a rickson fight in japan in the pre runners to the ufc days, man what fights, 45mins no time outs. its a living beast that evolves with time and by the fighters of the day each puting a little bit of themselves into the art, and taking a bit away too. you ever see henso gracie fighting? shit at 70 still mixing it with young fighters
Simoman 110
Hi Jay, I believe Rickson was going to be the Gracie fighter in the first UFC, I think something happened and Royce replaced him. I think BJ Penn has some great BJJ, his legs are almost like another pair of arms. You guys are right about no one style winning I think today you need some stand-up, BJJ and wrestling. Althought saying that one of my favourite fights in the last few years was between Stephan Bonnar and Forrest Griffin, they stood up for 15 minutes and battered each other senseless Why wait for a few more fights Jay, get your tape sent in I think one guy on the last season had never fought before...... Cupid Stunt 18
I think one guy on the last season had never fought before...... The lanky black bloke just lied about having a record.
Simoman 110
Thats him cupid, Corey Hill. Quite clever to make up a fight record and get into one of the biggest MMA organisations
Kye 77
That Corey Hill done my head in watching him,...i would have had his lead leg hanging off from thigh kicks after the first round!..lol...he has the tools, but NO skill imo...how about Gabe "The Cake" Rudeiger...lol...usless fat f****r!..lol. BJ penn is one of my favourite fighters...but he can be a lazy f****r...he is like most people naturaly gifted, they get buy easy on so much natural talent, that they dont feel the need to train as hard as they should...i think we will see a barnd new BJ in the next few fights...i would give ANYTHING to see BJ Vs Sherk...that would be great, a kinda Strength Vs Skill kinda fight. The Forrest Vs Stephan fight was GREAT...the second one left a lot to be desired...i think its kinda sad how Griffin is now so famous, and Bonner has had bad luck after bad luck...loss after loss, his coach died, tested positive for Gear, fines, suspension etc.. The guys on the last TUF season, there was some great talent on there, but most where complete knobs...one guy was on there to get free advertising for his f*****g Lobster Shack...for f**k sake...i would give my right nut for a chance like that...maybe, some day eh!?... Kye,..
Simoman 110
Valid points Jay, like you say BJ is so gifted but the fights where he has gone over three rounds he looks very tired. Sherk/Penn would be great but he has tested positive for steroids I beleive? So could be a while before we see the fight. Shame about Bonnar I thought he would do well but with Gracie passing and the drug testing its difficult for him. Your right about some of the fighters, that Lobster guy and Gabe(sauna boy) Thought Lauzon and Manny were good to watch , also would of liked to Diaz and Parisyan sort out there "problem"
Kye 77
I know some guys that have rolled with Manny, and they said it like fighting a f*****g pit-bull!..lol..a very strong, small, compact fighter,..i feel sad for him that his on going shoulder problem caused an early stoppage to the fight, although Nate Diaz's BJJ is stronger than Mannys, i feel the strength and explosiveness that Manny holds would have made for a great fight... There are some jokers on that show, but at the end of the day, it IS a reality TV show, NOT a search for the next best fighter!...if your arrogant, pig-headed, and a trouble maker, you WILL get a place on the show, simple as that....if i get to the try outs, im gonna be a right c**t to them!..."Yeah, im English, and i come 'er to kick the f**k outta some Yanks!...You gotta problem [bANNED TEXT] that mate!?"..lol... All the best guys... Kye,..
