For very sad sale

 

Greyhound bitch around 19 months old, registered name Gobby Cobby. Sire: Tullymurry Act Dam: Gorteen Fantasy.

 

This bitch has not been injured in anyway and never raced, she came direct from the racing kennels as she was showing no drive to chase. Well a few months in the field running with lurchers and that changed!!!

 

She has lived indoors and is fully house trained and good with kids, she also lives along with 4 lurchers one a 10 week old pup. The one and only reason this bitch is offered for sale is she has decided to challenge the lead female, who happens to be a large bull deerhound saluki, this has led to a large scale fight between the 2, in which chase (greyhound) was injured. This has escalated and does not seem to be resolving itself and after numerous tries this is the final outcome. Before anyone starts giving tips on how to keep the bitch, believe me she is coming from a knowledgeable home and everything has been tried. Theses 2 bitches cannot live side by side as one will end up dead and kennelling is not an option. I must point out that she is absolutely fantastic with all the other dogs in the pack and brilliant with any new dog she meets.

 

She has had her first season, is microchipped, pedigree, tattooed and vaccinated, she currently lives a life of luxury in the house and is a typical laid back greyhound who will happily sleep all day until its work and walk time, she was obviously kennelled at the race kennels though.

 

She will best suit a home where she will be a pet as well as a worked. For the last season she has been worked daytime as a lurcher and is showing great promise, never been lamped and is still a little green in regards to jumping, recall is spot on as long as she is not in chase in which case you are waiting for her to finish the run.

 

This bitch will not go to anyone and ALL homes will be vetted in person and I'm afraid if the home is not suitable you will be told no. There is a price on the bitch of £100 this will purely be to cover travel cost for the dog to be brought to you and the home vetted. The seller will have first refusal on the bitch if she where to be re homed and if it does not work out between new owner and the bitch she will be returned. If you will not be happy with a visit to your home then please dont contact about the bitch and please remember this is a very sad sale of a much loved family pet.

I dont think anyone will find a more honest post. I take my hat off to you as its obviously a last resort decision for you, and i sympathise with you, but with the ownership of pets / working dogs or any animals comes responsibillity to do the right thing by your charge, and you are doing whats right and best for your dog, your to be commended for it Fly My Girl.

 

Genuine good luck finding her a new, good, permanent home.

 

How is she with stock??, some will want to know guaranteed.

Thanks for that :-) as for stock she has lived with pet rats lol she's been walked through a game farm and seemed ok was on lead though! She's walked daily in a field that has a pen of sheep next to it and has never once gone near them. I can not guarantee her stock training as to be honest we don't encounter them all that often and I have never seen her off the lead in the same field as them. Knowing the bitch I don't think you would have a problem around stock and as a typical greyhound she walks on the lead perfect and when on the lead doesn't give any livestock a second glance.
