you give paypal your details i cant remember which and the it work one of to ways you can transfer money from your bank to your paypal account and then use it to pay for items or you can make payments through paypal ie they take the money from your account and transfer it to the sellers account without either of you seeing the others details i have been using paypal on a regular basis for about a year in the second way with no problems this is basically how it works but I'm sure there is someone who can say it better

Normally you will be asked for a back up source of funding as well as your bank details for instant bank transfers. This will usually be a credit or debit card. You can still use your paypal account without it, but it means you wont be able to buy certain things or use certain services if you dont have a backup funding source. One off the top of my head is Ebay auctions which require instant payment via paypal, I tried to buy something recently and couldnt, because I only have an old cashline account linked to my paypal, and no backup funding source ie credit or debit card, so it wouldnt allow me to pay for the item. I hope that helps

Not everything runs smoothly with PayPal. I've just been in a minor dispute with them over something I bought. The money was taken out straight away and transferred...but to where? It never arrived at the shop I was dealing with. Talk about being frustrated. It's really tough when there's no one to speak to, you're only in touch through emails, and you're waiting for a reply...and waiting...and waiting, that's the maddening thing and it's stressfull! Eventually, I was told that PayPal and the shop had "a wrong link", whatever that means :hmm::censored: . Never had any trouble before this latest incident though.
