brucemyster 75
hi all, been offered 2 jills for a fiver each, both have been pets and handled regularly but never worked, they are just coming up to a year old, my question is will they work? Mick C. 229
Theres a good chance they would work given the oppertunity but i doubt they would have the capabilitys of a seasoned campaigner straight away Quote Link to post

thenetter 37
you would be very unlucky if they didn't work, and your half way there if they've been handled well. Quote Link to post
youcanthide...BANG 1,051
no reason why they wouldnt its in a ferrets instinct to work and seen as though they are so young i can't see why they wouldnt work. just dont give up if they refuse to go down the first few outings. good luck Quote Link to post

The one 8,477
I got a jill from the r.s.p.c. a it would eat only dry grub never saw a rabbit in here life and didnt want to know any dead or alive Quote Link to post
Fat-Ferret 857
I have a jill that was kept for many years as a pet, fed dry grub and had ferret dresses, bells and all that lark..... Now she is what a great writer once called - "A cold hearted relentless killer" Quote Link to post
youcanthide...BANG 1,051
dont make a difference whether they eat rabbit or not in my opinion. when i do give my ferrets it i end up finding all the meat in the nestbox totally untouched. the first time i worked mine he was reluctant but when he finally bolted his first i ragged the rabbit around for him and let him have a good chomp. but he wont eat it only rag it until he knows its dead then he leaves it. usefull for your mooching and dont want to be digging Quote Link to post
