One thing I cannot fathom out is why the need for privatisation? ..... we could have the companies still in state hands, paying the same wages charging the same rates. yet the profits would go to the state bringing very much needed income for the government ..... Instead the profits go to wealthy individual share holders, with the minimum investment in the infrastructure of the utilities.

If you hated her politics thats one thing, if you were affected by her policies then i have some sympathy I am not going to do the Monty Python 4 Yorkshireman sketch but I was brought up in a very poor council area and her policies did affect my whole family more than half of which were working in the steel mills throughout this time.

The difference between myself and some of the hateful things i have read is was always brought up to respect someone's death.

I make no apology either for saying she led us out of probably the worst post war situation this country found itself in and led us away from the diatribe of what was then the union stranglehold of my country we were an absolute laughing stock to the rest of the world before this . Even I can see that if others can't then that's their opinion.

Foriegners here due to Blair and a labour government.

But at least we agree on something, John Smith would be turning in his grave at what followed him as a supposed labour leader and whilst there are no guarantees of what might have been I had at least respect for the man while I wouldn't piss on Blair if he was on fire.

Reading about some of the horrifying conditions these pit fellas worked in and all the deaths/illness etc you would think folk would be happy to see the back of them !.....................Im not clued up on miners or politics so i dont have strong opinions but i think it shows folks true ignorance of a subject when they think because they have studied the history or read a book and got second hand info that somehow qualifies them to think their opinion is equal to somebody who has lived and breathed the subject !

Lets have this right, I quiet fancy better wages and conditions so this is what we shall do......my firm earns 25 grand a year but I think I am worth 35 grand, the better conditions will cost the firm another 10 grand.
