Cut Backs ,and Thatchers Funeral

Recommended Posts

It's the job of the police and security forces to keep the peace and prevent terrorism, hence the state funding security, as they would with any other event. The funeral costs are being privately funded. Would you all rather no police/security forces were involved and the anarchists and terrorists used it as an opportunity to 'voice' their idea of democracy?

a normal funeral would have avoided all that and cost a fraction of what this one is costing

That doesn't matter though does it. It's their right.

it is, but there not footing all the bill, even football clubs pay for policing at matches

Not the full costs they don't! But then a Saturday footy match is hardly the target or terrorism is it...................

It wouldn't matter a shite who was paying for it, you lot would still be fecking moaning. What happened to your jolly moods and the party atmosphere?

If a normal everyday bloke was having a funeral and there was trouble expected the police would coordinate as deemed fit.............. at no cost to the organisers. Difference being Maggie was no ordinary everyday type.

a saturday football match would be a perfect target for terrorisum 30,000 or more people all tightly packed into one place with full full media coverage  im fed up of hearing one minute we are taxing the milk your babies drink "as were all in this together" and the next there spending 10 million on a funeral :icon_eek:

They are still ramping it up in the media i see.

I realy hope there will not be trouble on wednesday, there is so much ill feeling in Britain at the moment, the last thing we need is trouble on the streets.

I fear the worst tho. :hmm:

Although I despise the old cow, her family did nothing to us, and it will be a sad day for them, at least.I join you in hoping there are no unsightly scenes.

Worse than that, i fear there may be riots, the far left have a real nasty element to them, much worse than the far right.

I dont want to start a left right argument by the way.

Might be a bit late for that...... :hmm:

10 million of security operations, that's not doormen and stewards, that's police on the streets, Security service anti terrorist operations and I assume military operations. To protect the public! Personally I'm glad they are spending so much.

Lets be serious Paulus, the terrorist threats at football matches will already be well looked at by MI5 and police anti terror teams. Something I should imagine football clubs don't chip into.........

I understand what you're saying. We'll just have to dissagree.

FYI

Clubs currently have to pay back only the costs incurred inside their ground or on their property, with the rest coming from police budgets.

ill say it again the family should have a private funeral, then there no chance public disorder.cause lets face it,if des cause an all out riot, that 10million will be a piss in the ocean if it kicks off.

When were told we need cut back and yet 10million for a funeral for some c**t that was hardly liked is a piss take.

so your saying if they had a quiet little funeral in the country nobody would try to cause trouble?

She was a war time leader, not a war of our starting like blairs, but a war to protect the realm so she should get a militry funeral. Its worth it to pisss the lefties off if nowt else.

Let the builderbergs pay for one of their own , when they meet they surround them selves with private security. Let them carry out this funeral with the same secretive. Security they provide them selves. The guest list. Would suprise the most loyal tory.

Thatcher fell "Lucky" with the Falklands, her popularity was zero and she was sure to have lost in the following election. If Galtieri hadn't ordered the invasion she would have been stuffed. It wasn't her mates that died over there though,it was mostly lads from the Pit villages and Industrial areas that went there and won it!The very communities who she and her paymasters set out to destroy!Loads of lads from my area were on that Sir Galahad and many didn't come back, if they did many took their own lives ,through grief and depression, later on.No let her sychophantic ,brown nose followers pay to bury the Witch! They showed their true colours when her popularity was on the wane again, they jumped ship and threw her to the Sharks!
