Keeping Pregnant Ferrets Together

i have 2 jills that are sisters and have always lived together! I wanted to breed them this year as they have just came into season,but can they be kept together when they give birth or is it recomended to split them up?

I usually split mine, but I have successfully had twin litters together, are they first timers ?

i would split them just to be on the safe side

I have had ferrets that lived together for years and when one gave birth in the same hutch as the other she rejected the kits......And I have had some that where pretty new to each other and spent the summer tending each others young like they were there own....

 

It is bet to separate them just to be sure.

it can be be better to split but had two gills rear 21kits between them no bother but if for your own peace of mind split them if you feel better atb

Ideally they want mating on the same day so that they are due to have the kits the same time,no good the jills having their kits 7+days apart

I had two drop there's on the same day then the third jill was a bit later it was funny seeing the smaller kits among the larger one's they seemed to do well enough but as i didn't count them at birth i dont know if i lost any
