redmoor 0
Stupid people who take on breeds that they have no understanding of..i saw a couple last night who took on a JRT pup and came in for behavioural advice because it tries to 'kill' their kids' toys and shock of all shocks..it digs.. She was a complete ditz who was more worried about damaging her nails than much else, chose the pup as she 'liked the colours' ..they had no understanding whatsoever of what a terrier was bred to do or the fact it needed much exercise etc..they also wanted to know if 'squirting' him with water would stop him 'marking' indoors..the pup is 11w old FFS...God..give me strength...I took a call tonight from a woman who wanted to know if she could book her dog in to be 'devoiced' as his barking upsets her neighbours, this 11m old Springer Spaniel is left for up to 10hrs a day IN A CRATE...i just about lose the will to live dealing with these numpties... bill88 6
Completely agree,i was out walking the gang about 7 this morning on the local sports fields. The two lurchers and the two terriers were chasing each other, and jumping in and out of the pond.On our way out of the park,a woman starts screaming "get your dogs away he'll kill them" i then spot her very large Staffy, resplendent in studded red leather harness.I called my dogs back, and put the leads on,i then enquired in my most diplomatic voice "what the f**k is a dog like that doing loose and unmuzzled in a public place if it can't be trusted ?" she then said "well look at your dogs, running around all over the place, without leads" lets just say it's a good job i have a week off work this week, and was pretty relaxed, otherwise i may of been tempted to let mine off the leads. The word Numpty, doesn't do these f*****s justice, had i let my dogs off,her Staffy would have been torn to piece's,but what if it was a young kid with a dog,or an old woman with her lap dog ?. redmoor 0
I never ceased to be amazed at the amount of people who walk unsafe dogs off the lead and then go into a blind panic when you come around the corner with your dogs..of course they always tend to say the same thing 'oh..he's never done that before..' We had a Westie brought in that was literally torn apart by 2 Labradors that were un-muzzled, despite having done this several times before and they each took an end of the Westie..poor wee soul was covered in bite wounds. ferret15 0
i know what you mean i meet people who can not read there dogs body language. some people with little dogs are the worst they seem to think that it cute if they snarl bark or nip !!!! i meet a woman with a dog like this and it went for my colliex grey well she wasn't having any of it and grabbed it by the scruff and shook it she didn't hurt it but scared it off, the woman started an onslaught on me saying that my dog was vicious i pointed out that her dog which was of the lead approached mine which was on the lead and attached her all she did was defend herself. and that the womans dog should be muzzled and kept on the lead if she couldn't control it her response was hes so small i couldn't hurt a fly ! redmoor 0
I had the same last week-end when a GSP bitch grabbed my PRT right over the back of her neck, Holly snapped back to defend herself and shot back to me, the woman clapped her GSP and said 'bloody terriers..they are all the same..' None of my dogs EVER go out to pick a fight, they arent hugely interested in other dogs at all, yet the amount of times they get nailed by something..drives me blinking nuts. skycat 6,174
Please don't get me started on this one!! I now choose my times of day very carefully when I exercise my dogs: but I do have a a very useful bitch who drives off any pretenders, without doing damage to them; she just snarls and runs them off barging their shoulder. Luckily she hasn't yet met a really nasty dog that wants to seriously attack: God help it if she did as she spent a lot of her life being used for the larger kind of vermin control. What I like about her is that she just has to look at most dogs and they back off, never lifts her lip or anything. She is very protective of her pack. Gotta add: most people give me a wide birth when they see us and don't know my dogs or is it me they're scared of?

ferret15 0
a couple of years ago i was on a perk and there was a doberman pup about 1 year old the bloke who owned it shouted across hes fine !! so i let mine carry on one of mine went to say hello and for some reason turned and ran with its tail between its legs the doberman gave chase. my staffie x grey saw this from the other side of the field park and took off he ran straight in to the side of the doberman at top speed the doberman did a double roll sideways and ran back to it owner luckily he saw the funny side to it. it was the most effective way of averting attention i have ever seen
Hob&Jill 258
I was out walking my dogs the other night, about 10 pm. I got attacked by 2 lapdogs (think they were pomeranians, couldnt see too dark) The little fuckers were biting my ankles lol!! a boot and the patterdale sorted them out But the point Im making is, these dogs were OFF LEAD, I was just giving my dogs a walk about the village as there were feck all on tv. I still wouldnt agree but could understand if they were off lead in a field, but on a path in the middle of a village- idiots If your dog has a tendancy to chew stangers ankles, the put the little feckers to sleep, or at least KEEP EM ON LEAD Im not going to make anything of it, cant be arsed with the hassle. I rarly have a walk of with the dogs when someone dosent piss me off People who's dogs run up to you and the owner dosent even try to stop it, ahhhhh but its ok as "Oh, Its ok he dosent fight"...... "he will be soon....." There are so many complete and utter idiots who own dogs and dont have the faintest clue how to look after them, golden retrievers and fat labs seem to be the craze where I live Sorry about that, just needed to let it out H&J
