Mixed Bag 603 Posted April 15, 2013 Report Share Posted April 15, 2013 its always a good idea to just refesh a dogs memory about stock once the switch gets flicked and it starts catching either for the first time or on new quarry i do it when i start a pup as soon as its killing i take it round the sheep again just to make sure it knows theyre not on the menu preventions better than cure 4 Quote Link to post

If she was chasing sheep before then certainly, if not, then probably not. Do you want her to chase sheep, is running deer your way of preparing her to chase sheep? - If so it isn't the most efficient way to train her, there are lots of lads on here with dogs that aren't safe with sheep and you would be better off going out with one of them and letting her join in and rag a sheep along side their dogs - that's the most likely way to get her started on sheep.
