Ben Coward 19
8 months seems quite young... However, Make sure that you don't slip her too early. Wait until the rabbits bolt and she'll soon work it out. B/ Quote Link to post
terryd 8,681
Get close and or get in between the rabbit and home so dog has plenty of time to see it running towards you Quote Link to post

dustyj 63
Make sure your confident youve got a good a retrieve and good recall with her.if you cant get out with an experienced dog.take her out on your own which in my eyes is a better way to start your dog off.make sure your dog sees the rabbit and make sure shes got a chance to catch it.even if it misses the rabbit praise the dog when it comes back to you.just give it an odd run at that age stiil at lot of growing to do.never over do it. low plains drifter 10,768
Try keeping the pup on a short slip so she cannot be distracted by ground scent, and starts putting her head down Quote Link to post
