hawkeye the brave 7 Posted April 13, 2013 Report Share Posted April 13, 2013 I,ve had 9mm shotguns (still got one) great for close range but they were designed to fire 9mm bullets originally and called gallery guns ,hence as long as you use shotshells its shotgun permit but for the solid bullets you need sect. 1 ,i,ve also had .22 rimfire both on firearm ticket with rifled barrel and on shotgun permit with smooth bore barrel but same applies to this as the 9mm ,so its all down to barrel i.e. smooth bore and min 24" shotgun ,rifled bore or under 24" sect 1 , by the way .22 are 5.5mm if you buy shotshells again you only need shotgun cert. but all solid roulds c.b. caps etc sect 1 required .
