Just been and asked at my local gun shop and they are Section 2 if not less than 24 inch barrel, and they have the ammuntition on sale as well. I might have to buy it now and have a play!   OTC

If you look at the description of the gun - the barrell is less than 24" which automatically makes it a section one firearm rather than a shotgun

Could anyone tell me if you can still get ammunition for a 6mm Garden Gun and if so where from?

Does such a shotgun need to be certificated on a SGC as I have read somewhere that it is exempt?

Can anyone help?

I know a 9mm needs a SGC, but I thought 6mm garden guns were classed as section 1.

Might be wrong though .

think you might be right there think the 6mm garden gun was called no1 garden gun .22 shot shells .. the 9mm was called a no3 garden gun .

I did read somewhere that they were exempt but you cannot believe everything you read can you?

So Section 1 means they do not have to be certificated Walshie??

Any idea where I could get .22 shotshells from? Bit of a longshot I know

Just googled them and found 2. One said no licence required as obsolete calibre. (If that's the case, no you can't buy ammo.) The other said section 1 required. I think 6mm, even though it's smoothbore can fire .22 rimfire rounds, so I'd be very careful. Ask your firearms department for clarification.
