If somebody told me that their 6 month old pup had single handedly tracked a roe buck I would find it very difficult to believe ... Well that was until this evening when my bitch pup Tilly did just that ... Unbelievable ........

I can believe that as my youngest (now five) used to track roe from around that age. It used to puzzle me at the time as it was when I was introducing her to ferreting so my brain was in rabbit mode. It took a few times for me to accept that it wasn't a coincidence.

i know where your coming from mate.......i havent seen as many dogs as you but i think some are able at that age...........and the more terrier/collie blood the more able in my opionion

I remember my dog going missing for about 20 minutes following roe scent when he was 4 months old,lost him for well over an hour last year in the tall rape fields he was away after the foxes,he'll be 8 year old in july and he's always loved scent hunting
