My 2Yr Springer Bitch Got Her Tail Docked Today :(

after a year of a continously bleeding and infections it was time to get the chop.

 

i originally always favoured springers with tails dont know why just do personal preference.

 

she would wag it at all times even when sitting down it just never stopped thus being she worn a hole in it ....

had the same thing with my cocker, she was 2 and a half when she had hers done in Jan 2012. If you're OCD about keeping it clean and not letting her mess with it it'll heal quick and you won't look back! good luck

to late left her in car for 10 came back lampshade off head stitches gone but it has not opened and looks really clean so not a all out bad thing ish

yeah bled a lot the first couple of days but that's to be expected, as long as it's looking clean and not swelling or anything you should be alright, it's just once it starts opening you're in trouble as that's when you're back in getting more and more taken off. How short has yours ended up? Shall I have a look if I can find some before and after pics of mine?

there's about 2inches if even that long left.

she has hot the stitches out but has not opened up nor has bleed from the first day. I'll add a pic in 30mins

I'd say the stitches were still in there mate looking at the pic. My lurcher was a complete tw@ with his when it was chopped and it looked worse than that but the stitches were still in there.

Wonder why they did it so short. Or was the entire tail infected? Just wondering.

had her up ay vet yesterday for check up vet said yeah all stitches are out and she said im surprised it didn't open but she said it was a little swollen and gave me antinflamitrys and after one tab and 2 hrs later the swelling was down.
