All the arguing aside, you only need to look at the strong, boxy heads and deep chests, strong build on Minshaws Blue and that Jack dog that was in the pic that got taken down to see that there is a bit of bull of some kind in there. I remember the thread where it was stated quite plainly by ASD that Minshaw never fully admitted exactly what was in the original dogs, perhaps because he didnt know for sure himself?? or maybe because he didnt want folks to know, but I distinctly remember a dog being mentioned as having whippet and possible staffordshire bull in it. Anyone who knows livestock will know that strong genes that produce characteristics like split bully heads and deep chests, can surface for many generations after the original cross

allright SJM , you are quite right about the bull content in the minshaw line , also a good point is that minshaw like many other breeders of {not just lurchers but terriers aswell } have told a load of buullshit as far as what has gone into the line for fear of somebody replicating what they have got , so in short terms folks i ask you this , if you crossed english bull into your lurcher line would want anybody to know , i doubt it very much , and that is where all the lies started ......now don't get me wrong i'm not slagging off the english bull coz i've got one well half a one the other half is staffy .......but i would still say that it would not be the best off bull to use for lurcher production

I dont think you have seen any true working staffies to come out with that comment nikey. There are still a fair few genuine staffies about, athletic game creatures. Not these squat apple headed critters you see at crufts. ps why dont the minshaw haters just drop it now because its getting f*****g boring. And SJM you always seem to be about when this topic comes up, haven't you got anything better to do. I dont know whats gone on between you and others, but it would be best if you lot sorted it privately because all this is becoming tiresome. cheers wex :D

Thats funny Wex cos I was thinking the same about you, you always seem to pop out of the woodwork whenever theres a Minshaw thread :D

Maybe its down to the fact that my dogs carry a modicum of minshaw blood :whistling: . I think you are driven by a more sinister reason, i mean you have stated you aint seen a minshaw or minshaw cross run. So technically you aint qualified to have an opinion on them, i would never base my opinions on hear say or tittle tattle. I am just amazed at the amount of people who dirive pleasure at picking holes in another hunters choice of tyke. If you have issues with folk dont slate a particular cross to get at them, other people may own and work that particular cross. If i had a problem with you i wouldn't start slateing collie composites. I dont want to get into a tit for tat arguement i just think you should keep the tiresome minshaw hateing off the threads. cheers wex( a poor old minshawx owner).

Well the thread is actually about bull crosses, and I think that does entitle me to an opinion about them since I own a bull cross. As for the Minshaw thing, theres nothing sinister whatsoever, Im an out in the open person, which is why I sent Andrea off Hunters United my home tel no so she could have a chat to me, or her man, or whoever was available to talk, since I sent him a PM one time on smoochers and she replied saying he couldnt talk to me since he was too busy, so I concluded from that she must be the one who wears the trousers in that house :D But no phonecall as yet, lots of threats of this and that on their forum, and I see they have now started on CBC saying they are going to drive to Wales and hit him between the eyes with a hammer, do you really think this can be sorted out in private when your dealing with this kind of mentality? I dont have a problem with Minshaw dogs per say, if and when I see a good one running, I will be the first to say so. I have the craic with Snoops off here who has a Minshaw and he takes it all in good humour which is what its all about, feel free to slate collie crosses, they do have their limiations, why do you think I put a good hare dog over my old collie/grey bitch? It was because I wanted something which could kill them during the day, most collie things can kill them on the lamp, its a liberty. I think its a no win situation personally, but until the day that IanB tells me I am not allowed to post on the forum anymore (since he owns the forum) I will post what I like when I like and give my honest opinions. I respect you for giving yours, without the histrionics :signthankspin:

Histrionics :clapper: , SJM let me start by saying i wouldn't want to slate colliex's or any x's. Secondly, my point was that you always manage to pop in and have a comment when minshaw is mentioned. You seem some what obsessed with everything that is minshaw. I am lining my bitch in april 08, so if you want i will give you pick of the litter. The bitch has a pedigree that contains Victors old dog "BLUE". Oh and this minshaw blooded bitch aint scared of Foxes. :victory: p.s off to watch Liverpool now so TTFN

I have pmed Andrea on your behalf SJM and she said to tell you stop saying half a crack that when you gave her your phone number its not worth the paper its written on she told you your address or nowt and shes still waiting.

How do you know what ASD has said on his site today? is someone running back with tales?

Also, ive seen photos of Minshaws dogs with hundreds of foxes

Dont shoot the messanger :tongue2:

:signthankspin: for the kind offer but I wouldnt be interested in a lurcher pup unless its off parents Ive seen working and Ive liked what I saw. If you really want to get the handbags out :D I wouldnt be interested in a Minshaw pup anyway as I have heard people are charging silly money for them just on a name (£500 +), plus the fact the man who started the strain isnt even interested in them anymore, he has moved on to daytime dogs, hes actually running a dog my mate bred, so thats one thing I can applaud him on, he knows when to end a lost cause and move on to something better class :toast::toast:

I didnt give her it on a peice of paper, I sent her it via PM, TWICE if you really want to split hairs, and she has my address allready or so she says, because she posted on her site saying she knew where I lived and that I was getting a doing, so I wouldnt want to shoot you for being the messenger, your not delivering a message, more like being sent on a fools errand

Yes they are indeed  , perhaps she should ban everyone for being friends with me, like she did with my mate Chester :whistling:
