Guest Bunny Basher
Im nearly 15 years old and have seen at least 5 bull x's working and 2 of them chased sheep, 1 of those 2 grabbed a cow and a different 1, when we walked through some horses grabbed hold of the horse before getting kicked off ive seen them catch and chase rabbits but never hares. 3 of them did catch foxes pre ban. I know there will be plenty of good ones but the ones i have seen were not What are your experiences on bullx's? Link to post
Tallyho 181
you only get back what you put in , i have bull x's and ours wont touch any thing they aint suposed to, the dogs that you saw the owners couldnt be arsed to put any time in to the dogs so they will chase any thing becaue they no no different, its the owners fault, :thumbdown. any dog is as good as you make them Link to post
Simoman 110
If you don't stock break your dog then your risking problems, doesn't matter if it a bull cross, collie cross or whippet cross....... Link to post
Irish Lurcher 1,013
Have to agree with the lads, I have a bullx and have put endless hours into her, as the man says, you got out what you put in. Link to post
Paul in North Lincs 15
my opinion mirrors the other gents........... any dog with no schooling will 'worry' sheep and cattle................if your seeing this... then its testamony to the fact that those dogs have not been properly trained.....at all. Guest ceredigion bull cross
an untrained dog is a pain in the arse , mind you i have seen a well behaved well trained dog attack sheep out of frustration , all because a fox bit him on the nose {pre ban} , the dog in question was a minshaw , now give the dog his due he was good on rabbit's and hares ,but when he felt them sharp foxy teeth he went silly in the head and took off after the sheep , this happened on three occassions and needless to say he got shot for his trouble, so i suppose you could say horses for courses and use a bull x for fox pre ban hope this helps you young man , happy hunting. Guest joe ox
There is dogs who worry stock regardless. But its usually down to no training or poor training. Singling out any x and calling it a stock worrier is WRONG. I have seen dogs do it out of frustration which can be sorted out with a good telling off, if there persistant the only option is a bullet! Before anyone gets on there high horse IMO they are not suitable to be rehomed as pets. Edited August 2, 2007 by joe ox Link to post
Guest grubygrafter
all dogs with a high prey drive will have a go at something they should'nt. especially if they arnt proper trained these problems are usually down to incompetant owners Link to post
