I can understand people either liking or disliking her. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I find the personal slagging and name-calling pointless and direspectful of the dead. Thing is though, she can't hear it, but even if she was alive and reading this right now, she wouldn't give 2 shits what any of her haters think, so what's the point in bad-mouthing her now it's too late?

The only way to stop what she ( represented) was not vote for her, and i( never) did .!!

From what I can see, and i remember bin bags piled high in the streets and blackouts, the unions and its members took the piss and got ironed out. Get over it......we lost docking along the Thames lo

So let me get this right......she single handedly closed the mines, closed the shop yards, got rid of the car industry, liberated the banks so they eventually could land us in the economical melt down

say what you like about her she was her own woman and stood by her convictions and something else about her she would never have given in to pressure like blair was and allowed the hunting ban to be p

Walshie, I'd like to think I was we'll brought up, and one of the things I was taught was respect no ody that doesn't respect you, she didny give a f**k about my dad or his dad, I don't give a f**k about her, she shat on millions of people and to be honest in finding it hard to understand why any working class man or women would have a so gle good word to say about her.

compulsory purchased sunshine for the redshite exstending their stadium. The clue is in the wording on the poster Ah gnasher dont be getting all emotional because of the destine shown to anty margj

Would that be along the same lines as the 1 pound houses on the same manor then ?...............Your city is a shithole pal dont be afraid to say it......most cities are......people in greenhouses and all that !

Far as im concerned, the venomous no class cheap nastiness towards an old dead woman......suggest maybe she was right all along to wash her hands of certain areas...............again,the truth often has strange ways of proving itself.

would these areas be the same areas they rely on for young men and women to go and fight wars?

Looking forward to the FUNDAY myself, opp's i ment funeral :whistling: .Couldn't give a flying toss that some think it's in bad taste all this "the witch is dead" bit,she set her son up as a arms dealer so the loss of a mother bit out the fecking window as it means f**k all  .I'm not so clever to get into political debates i just go on how she affected my life and i'm glad she got what she wanted, living served upon hand and foot in a posh hotel.Well only because the old scroat couldn't wipe her own arse :bad: ,feed or wash herself :bad: and spent her last day a dribbling mess :toast: .Carefull what you wish for as karma will give it you in some form,i'm just glad you got what you wanted maggie :laugh:

I understand where you're coming from and I respect your opinion. I was simply asking how personal attacks on a dead person could solve anything.

I hear folk bleat on about " manufacturing has been lost in this country" blah blah blah

Well, you have minimum wage

You have paid holiday

You have this workers right and that workers right

You have the working time directive

The list go's on.......they don't have any of that shite in China or the far easy so they can make things cheaper!

You can't have it all ways round

They have just shipped in from China the 3 largest container cranes in Europe near me.........if they could have made them cheaper in any yard up the east coast then they would have done it.......logic says its cheaper to barge something down the east coast than all the way from china.

There's an old saying, careful what you wish for cause it may come true.......well we have all these wonderful workers perks and no manufacturing.........who's fault is that?

wilf

do you work for less than the minimum wage

refuse to take paid holidays

would you not stand up for your rights had you been wronged

do you work 80/100 hrs a week

i don't know you but i doubt it,like lots of people who decry the unions not many refuse

the benefits that have come their way due to the unions & matt the witch won 2 elections

79 & 84 she only won in 84 on the back of the falklands & a wave of nationalism that followed

before that the country wanted her head. the 3rd election they where going to take it but

the party stepped in & beat them to it. as has been said great leaders unite counties

not benefit small sections at the expense of the many she appealed to one human emotion

sadly a strong one GREED. the world is a better place without her

You don't have to be rich to have class, there lads on here with very different views but mostly they are all well put across.

Sad mate, if you represent what people like Thatcher were against then I certainly can't make her wrong.

Luckily for the other side of the argument, there are lads that express their point well and that is to be respected.

"Well then, like all of us who have to work in the real world, it's put up or shut up !!

If they didn't want to do then leave, if they want to earn the money then graft.....it's really as simple as that to me I am afraid matey"

Thats exactly what they did do Pal,worked and grafted in really bad conditions for relatively small reward. The miners had a very strong work ethic and got on with it!I remember my Brother in Law going to sign on after they closed the local pit and the smarmy benefits officer telling him that it would be better if He signed sick! He'd never even been on the Dole so He told them what do with it,just so they could massage Thatchers unemployment figures!

Never had a paid holiday in my life

And the reply to the rest is, yes, when I have to and have done so regularly all my life.

In the early 90s I worked for 4 months solid, 84 hours a week for £200 and was happy because I had £200 at the end of every week unlike my mates who said " I wouldn't do that" but were skint

I remember working from Monday to Saturday, 24 hours a day, only snatching half hour kip here and there and getting £600 and I was well happy because it was twice as much as I earned the week before and I could take it home and top up my shoe box that I used as a bank just that little bit more

I could tell you about the 4am starts and 11pm finishes for weeks on end, loading a 120 ton of gear a day for month long stretches.....happy all the time because I was earning.

No if and buts, I needed to get 4 x 30 ton loads down the road to earn what I wanted to earn and so I did it.

There's plenty like me, and mate, we don't understand all this cap in hand to the government stuff!

well i think we've all done it from time to time but without the unions you'd of had no choice

you'd of had to of do it every week 12/16 hour days where the norm & 6/7 days a week

sick or not, dieing you still had to be there or you where sacked

Genuine question to any miner or shipyard worker:

When you could see that the industry was being propped up with tax payers money and so could not go on as a viable business, did any pits or yards offer to work more hours for less money?

Or had the unions gone too far by then and needed to be broken at any expense?

wilf do you honestly think the management would of ever given a true breakdown?when they wanted a pit that had previously been in profit show a loss all they did was order new machinery leave it in the stockyard for months.the first pit i worked at made profits not huge but still a profit about 2 month before it closed they spent thousands on new computers

Before they closed 2 pits in my area, they had Thyssens drive a new heading to link the pits so the coal could be washed at one point, brand new Dosco cutters and walking chocks were purchased.Low and behold when it came to close i,t the pits was making a loss, not being invested in mind you but making a loss? They buried the fec-king lot, millions and millions of pounds worth, just buried it! :hmm: No coal?No politics mates, pure and simple!

gnash. Certain parts. Of my beloved city certainly. Are run down. I never have or will. Said any different. I worked in many parts of the capital that are lets say run down that's not. What this debate is about. Although the lack of investment by all governments have brought about urban decay as for the pound houses. Again the intro dution of housing association are the cause of many problems Wonder who thought that one up. A SHIT HOLE LOL LOL Edited by gonetoearth
