Mal x 1
The rescue center's are full of discarded lurchers bred on a whim sad but true. Quote Link to post
RubyTex 1,957
It's just the muppets that see their dogs as status symbols..."my dog catches more rabbits than yours does" etc etc always trying to get one over their mates. Gets fecking tedious reading all their shite on Facebook after a while. Quote Link to post
Carraghs Gem 1,675
All the more reason to not only research the type of lurcher you want but to also search for the best bred litter available... 99% of dogs advertised on preloved/donedeal/gumtree/facebook are shite-Average at best. paulsmithy83 567
Commonplace nowadays mate - breeding from dogs and bitches that haven't had more than two winters below their belt...totally pisses me off...I know of one five year old bitch who has had - and this is no joke - 5 litters...bunch of f*****g tits... Spoke to another guy a while back whose dog had just sired a litter halfway through its second season...proud as punch too - fkn dick!!!!!! I've got a crackingly well bred Irish coursing greyhound bitch here whelped in March 2011- and this morning she was bang smack ready to stand for a dog...I've got two options here...1/2 x collie x grey 23 months old and an 18 month old alaunt x bull x grey - both fkn decent dogs who have been grafted hard so far and both have more than stepped up to the mark...but have they proved themselves enough to breed pups with?????? That's a big NO!!!! Woulda been the easiest thing in the world this morning to have whacked on of them big dogs over the bitch - 8 pups - advertise online - bit o bullshit - £200 a pop - nice easy £1600 - result Ah woulda known it wasn't quite right tho eh????? And that would've bothered me...and isn't part of the greater scheme of things... I'll wait, plenty time - no intentions of breeding the alaunt x bull x grey but desperate to have a 3/4 bred from my collie - he's done all I've asked and more and I think he's capable of being the best I've had...time will tell and time will also dictate whether he's gonna be worth breeding from...fingers are crossed big time on this but this ain't the time for this... Nothing worse than breeding pups from pups - sign of a poor dogman in my book...rant over... Breedin pup from pup is stupid for to many reason. Out interest borderscot havnt u gone Hancock in past, mite hav miss red but I thin it was you on the Hancock thread. Little hypercritcal Has the grey dne much as she's still pup only just over 2 and reason didnt bred Is stud to young. I mite miss red but post little confusin but sound like practic wat preach. Dnt wanna argue just that wat I got from that post 1 Quote Link to post

If it was lucas brother and not a load of shite talk to sell a saluki x Then its still a rare event that a decent dog comes up for sale on donedeal Same with pups, very rare a litter comes up from genuine dogs... You get told anything to sell pups at overinflated prices here 1 Quote Link to post

And I guarantee yall that I aint in it for the money. I've never sold a dog or a pup in my life. Not even charged a single dollar for all the upbringin. Quote Link to post
