paulk73 151
Busy gun shops do chrono the new guns, Redbeck do as they do not want to be caught selling FAC powered guns. A good gun shop will chrono all guns that they sell, just to make sure! hi mole. i know all shops should chrono every gun they sell. but i know of one shop that didn't check any rifles for at least 6 months, because someone shot the chronograph, and it never got replaced for ages. I took a rifle to get checked, and they told me they couldn't do it, and why. then i took another there 6 months later and was told that they still hadn't replaced the chronograph. Quote Link to post
AirgunGuy 362
Is it a legal requirement that RFD's chrono rifles that they sell? Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Is it a legal requirement that RFD's chrono rifles that they sell? it should be but isnt as far as i know.. if they get caught selling 'firearms' to people without a licence they will probably get thier pants pulled down... if I had a gunshop i wouldnt risk losing my business.. but some people will try use ignorance as an excuse, for example, "oh well hull cartridge should have checked it before they delivered it to my shop" then the guy buying the gun could say "well the gunshop should have checked it before they sold it" end of the day tho its down to whos in possesion of it... perhaps when buying a gun, thye person should demand to see it chronoed -with a calibrated chrono and various weighed pellets- , infront of them before they hand their cash over .. just for their own piece of mind.. clubshot 22
Is it a legal requirement that RFD's chrono rifles that they sell? No and most Manufactures do not test every guns before it leaves their Hands I would not buy a new gun without it being Chronoed before I parted with payment As stated once you accept it you are liable - BOB/R 1 Quote Link to post
dadioles 68
Different pellet weights and types will chrono differently in the same gun. If you are unlucky enough to have your gun seized, the police will fire a variety of pellets and record the readings. It is up to you to make sure that no pellet enables your gun to exceed 12ftlbs. It is not good enough to claim that the pellet you currently use is within limits. All pellet types / weights have to remain within limits. Quote Link to post
