Matt 160
Lol. She gave you the oppotunity to buy your own house. Well doff your flat cap. , you all ways had the right to buy a house. She gave away counsil stock witch should be still availible to people that need it. self pity. The only pity i have is for people who think that a priminister who tore a country apart from top to bottom inflicted the pole tax on my scotish brothers a year before she dared impose it on england a priminister who sent are service men ill equipped half way round the world to fight when months before was ready to do a deal then withdrew the endevour giving the argies every oppotunity to land on the Island a priminister who sold off are assets to the city of london then deregulated the banks so the traders could reep the highest benifits from the sale the very same person who enterd politics. With a few grand in the bank died with over 25 million not to mention her deals in africa. Go and do a bit more reading source all the stories of the legacy of. Margy. Then Ponder on the fact. Thatcher was a leading light in the buildrbergs. !!!!!!! Sadly, your knowledge of history seems limited. If you lived in a council house, you had no right to buy it, let alone get up to % discount on the market value, until Mrs T gave everyone the right to buy. The poll tax was fair in my opinion (here we go) because the old rating system was totally unfair. Why should a family of four adults pay the same for the services that they use far more than me as I do for just me and Mrs Rat? It was the unions that tore the country apart. I read today of one father and son who haven't spoken since the strike in '84. Sad. She called Scargills bluff and won. He could have ended the (illegal) strike any time he liked, but didn't want to back down and loose face with his Soviet paymasters. I hope you strikers that got £1 per day and then redundancy remember that Scargill has a Knightsbridge flat costing £34k p/a for life. For what? Betrayal and treason. I said it earlier, and I'll say it again; if we had more principled politicians like her today the country wouldn't be on it's knees.

Pete R 27
"She tore the country apart, devastated communities", that's all I keep hearing people spouting. What a crock of shit, it was the unions and more so the miners who devastated their communities, even falling out with their families. Decent people having their windows put through, paint thrown over their cars and houses, being called scabs and having it written in paint on their houses, their family too afraid to walk down the street for fear of being attacked, men being beaten up, and why? All because they wanted to go to work to be able to put food in their childrens bellys and keep a roof over their head. What sort of sick b*****d would want to stop a man doing that, absolute scum, and they talk about Maggie devastating communities they need to take a good look at themselves first.Call themselves men. Unbelievable. Edited April 10, 2013 by Pete R

Matt 160
Not very long ago Scargill was campaigning to get the two blokes who MURDERED an innocent man by throwing a concrete block onto his car from a bridge pardoned and released. The man was a fan of Stalin, and was funded and instructed by Moscow. He went against not just Mrs T, but the whole country and tried to hold us all to ransom. He lost. I can't see many people being as interested when that scumbag finally departs this earth. Mrs T never lost an election; she was stabbed in the back by her own party, especially the likes of Heseltine, who hated the fact that she stood up for what she believed in and wouldn't back down, ever. We will never see the like again, which is why this country will eventually sink into the abyss.

The majority (as you put it) hate her because at the time they were onto a good thing and that good thing was taken away from them. They were being spoilt, and as all spoilt children are when you take away the things they want they throw a tantram. They realised that even though they thought the country owed them a living the truth was it didn't, and they was going to have to get other jobs with a normal size pay packet like the rest of the workers in the country. As for your poverty comment, you do realise there is no such thing as poverty in this country don't you. Do you believe it was right to stop a man going to work to provide food and clothing for his children?
scothunter 12,609
nlol so introducing a tax to one part of the country a year before the rest was fair was it? see what happened when they introduced it to england, they rioted for days,.they must have been over whelmed with grattitude eh? there no such thing as poverty in this country? i seriously doubt that. no i dont think its right to stop a man from working or feeding his family. however im suprised you used that as an example, cause saint f***ing maggie certainly couldnt have cared less if certain famlies kids were fed or not. its cool though i get it you liked maggie and your a tory good for you.my old man was a staunch tory aswell, for all the f***ing good it did him.
