tiger82 43
Does anybody keep ferrets Hobs and Jills together in the court all year round? Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
I've always had a hob and several Jill's in the same court. If the hob is entire then remove to a separate hutch when Jill's start coming in season or if he is vasectamised then take him out once he has served the Jill's. Some people leave a vasec hob with 4-5 Jill's year round but in my experience the hobs usually just harrass the Jill's and batter them. I've got a cracking hob now. Really nice thing, softest ferret I've had and coming a good worker aswell. I would like to keep him in with the Jill's year round so I might get him castrated. But I could get him vasectamised and then he can take my Jill's out of season... Quote Link to post

The one 8,530
When i had my snipped hob i used to run him with six jills all year no problem , them i would swap them over with other jills as they came and went out of season Quote Link to post
bonts lurcher boy 35
i keep my 4 together from about end aug/start of sep. till bout mid to end of feb. then i separate the 2 young hobs. singly. then keep the jill and the castrated hob together Quote Link to post
Rich.h 4
I keep a vasecomised hob with three jills all year, once he has mated with them they don't give him a look in anymore so the harassment stays to a minimum. Quote Link to post
