Huan72 687
shot/snared/hunted with a pack of beagles or coursed i do believe there needs to be a season unless were putting everything thats not shot for proffit on the vermin list I would like to think that most would regulate themselves and give the hares a break, to breed and raise young but the problem is that if we dont, the heavy hand of authority is gonna regulate it for us! I feel that we need to be sensible and show respect to the animals we seek because we are doing ourselves no favours if we come accross as killing whatever we want when we want. To have a say in any future legislation about hunting we need to show that we have the ability to self regulate, the respect for what we hunt and the ability to forward our arguments and reasons sensibly We always need to remember that some reading these posts may well want to ban hunting hares completely! for all our sakes, lets regulate our hunting 2 Quote Link to post
csd_88 138
Any hare can be shot the young, week, old and the strong, imo with a dog the strongest have a chance to get away and strenghen the hare population, they aint got that speed and stamina for nothing. 3 Quote Link to post

blackgreyhound 206
labtastic .a man asked me once will you sell me that hare dog ? i said no because no money could replace whaht he means to me from 8wks of age up to now he and i have had such great times.he has taught and shown me so much. keep your 30 pieces of silver.i would rather he was never born than sell him to you .not everything in this corrupt world has a price .there are some things you just canott buy .foolish man thinks he can buy love and end up loseing thier fortunes to women .again and again they think all in the world is for sale.the world is being destroyed because of mans greed from the amazon to the african plains .look at the conservative party relaxing planning laws on the green belt destroying that which we hunt and for whaht morals social concerns? no pure greed of money.the root of all wars and of all suffering the devils currency .money 1 Quote Link to post
low plains drifter 10,276
All this debate about what should be done in the hare's best interest,I might be biased as I have coursing bred dogs, but to my mind I cannot see a more natural and healthy way to conserve the hare population other than by coursing.after all it is said to be the most ancient of fieldsports and coursing was the reason that they were brought here in the first place,if the Altcar estate is anything to go by,how many other estates, and strong hare populations have had to suffer,in the so called name of animal welfare Quote Link to post
