NEWKID 27,382
What a shame if we have to enforce new rules ( 1 point for 3 goals, none for a draw etc) just to get footballers to play.. The way the game is played shouldn't be affected by money or anything else... I understand you'd be pissed off spending a load to go and watch a boring 0-0, but that's football it happens.... Then you look at Keegans Newcastle from years back, every game seemed to be a thriller but it cost them in the end.... I'm not condoning a boring way of football, I love end to end games as much as anyone... Just sometimes it doesn't go like that
gnasher16 30,425
Wait until more and more games are bubble matches with restrictive travel like criminals allardyce is obviously a decent manager he got west ham up and kept them up cant be cavalier all the time points on the board are the most important things due ti financial implications of relegation. Flair footballs obviously more attractive but id take a ground out 1-0 over a 4-3 defeat every weekend just my opinion and i dont think booing will help Thats up to you..........but sorry thats just not acceptable at West Ham..............we played flair football throughout the generations before Allardyce with good and bad times................ive never known a West Ham side before Sam Allardyce that didnt go out and try to win the football match.......Some clubs parking the bus is an accepted way of getting points.....this is the academy of football its not accepted here and never will be,simple. patterdalejoel 669
went to notts forest earlier this season when they were on shit form.... worst match ive ever seen, literally cannot remember anything of the match, only leaving and entering the ground. players played like they couldnt give a shit, did the same at Huddersfield, couldnt be arsed to play. but then went to blackburn away, a massive derby, and the players played like their arses were on fire, we had players kissing the badge to the blackburn end, giving stick back when they were on the side of the pitch. im responding to your first post gnasher, so i dont know what has been written since, but its what you expect from football! im fully away everytime i go how shit it can be, i stood up for 90 mins at minus 2 at home to hull and i think burnley had 1 shot, from 30 yards, but thats what you do! its why you love it! but i agree its and insult to the fans when they cant be arsed, to working class people, who are the majority of football fans, it is a big weekend expense, they need to respect the fans more! Of course we knew what to expect from Allardyce.....he did what he,s good at and we,re back up and so he deserved the following year..............but its stick or twist now...............i think if not for the new stadium he would be out at the end of this year......but due to the importance of going into the new ground as a premier league club they will probably stick rather than twist. At West Ham we are not used to this sort of football and its not acceptable.................same with Stoke they are screaming out for Pulis to go now and i dont blame them one bit.......this style of football shouldnt be encouraged in my opinion. gnasher16 30,425
ive just written a load of shit there, hopefully you get the point I understand exactly what your saying mate..............I dont expect to be entertained with beautiful football every week, but as a traditional old football club who have spent 100 odd years playing a certain style of football......i cant accept all that being wiped out in 2 seasons...........ultimately its the owners call from now on.....and like i said earlier they are playing a dangerous game as this is not a club whos fans come from all over the country .......if they lose the core support they wont get it somewhere else like the Arsenals/Utd/LIverpool do. Big mistake appointing the ugly horse headed fu*ker. cold horrible wet day that was but the 3 points warmed me up Me mum was a WH fan god rest her soul, have a soft spot for the hammers for this reason.
baw 4,360
It's a tricky one gnash, don't need to tell you football isn't about a single game but a season of them. Clubs set out with their own goals and agendas. This leads to some shitty games for the supporters. Take my club Celtic, no rangers this season so the league was always going to be a formality. So they set their stall out to concentrate on Europe. Did pretty well, reaching the last 16, but the league games suffered. Still, they'll win the league this weekend so technically they achieved what they set out to do. But for the fans turning up week in week out it was piss poor and attendances suffered. Short term the club has benefitted with the CL money but it could never continue like that, the fans simply wouldn't allow it. I personally think you should only gain a point on a score draw, 0-0, you should get heehaw.

I Think You Will Find Gnash That There Calling For Pullis Head Because Off Results Not Style Off Football . . That Style Has Kept Them In The Top League For Yrs And Not A Word . . . Though Now There In Free Fall There Jumping On The "We Dont Like This Style" Bandwagon I Think Stoke Should Be Carefull What They Wish For . I Understand What Your Saying But I Can't Think Who You Would Get At The Hammers To Guarentee Success While Keeping The Tradition . think Di Canio Would Be Too Big A Gamble , Who Would You LIke Too See ? baw 4,360
Do you know who I think will be an excellent manager in years to come, Steven Gerrard. He will get respect from the players, knows how a game ticks, has shown his leadership qualities in the CL final, seems intelligent. Mind when he's successful, think back and remember, you heard it here first
