blackgreyhound 206
when i see hares shot i personally feel spiritually sick.one looks like it is in kit .it is up to the individuals conscience but it makes me feel so sad and depressed .showing shot hares on this forum just isnt right .for a hare to be chased by a good strong dog nature against nature yes but to be blasted by a twelve bore or rifle just isnt right.also the changelings witches wont be happy lady diana the huntress would be very dissapointed .hares are for the chase not the gun .as are deer and rabitts.no matter how many times i get slagged off for saying so shooting hares and other four legged critters is just spiritually wrong.banning courseing was not just morally wrong it was spiritually wrong .it is going to cause people to slag me off for saying so but this is what i belive Quote Link to post

Banter 1,751
Now the season has been and gone :-( and we will no doubt have nothing but talks of matches, fighting and shows I thought I'd fire this pic up of my bitch Swift and a couple she retrieved one morning after been shot by my lad :-) up on the Fells..she ain't to bad at retrieving shot game when given the chance..I use her mainly for lamping bunnies but she is adept at more tasks than just that so we give her a day or two out doing those other tasks just to keep her sweet lol... great picture Quote Link to post
Phil Lloyd 10,738
We was working on a big shooting estate a while back,.just clearing the rabbits out of some long hedgerows,..and I suppose we must have seen 90/100 hares running around the fields. It was good to see so many,..but they were a bit of a pain, where our dogs were concerned... No matter how hard I tried to keep the dogs back on the warren,.they kept hunting them up... and the black tips were constantly ending up in the stop nets ... I explained this to the keeper,.and he said to me, "Listen, I don't mind you spinning over a dozen or so,.but these hares planed off and fecked up, all the cover crop last season, plus they are ruining the farm crops,.so ,....after you have finished playing silly beggars, harassing them with those skinny arsed,..whippety things,.., I want you to come here at night and shoot every fecking one" Now, I'm a fair shot with a rifle,..and I've killed thousands of rabbits,.but I just don't like shooting the hares,..it is completely illogical I know,.but unless there is a market for them,...I just don't want to do the job... So,.we continued with our rabbiting work,...took a few more hares before they got shot,.and said adios... Mind you, its a prime area,..so if I get back on the place next season, I'll bring a gert big long net,...for relocation purposes,..and hopefully play, 'save the hare'.... All the best FUJI,..and good hunting.... Edited April 8, 2013 by CHALKWARREN 6 Quote Link to post

Good to hear about some hares doing so well,It was because of the high hare population that I first developed my 20 year obsession with hares on a small shoot that we used to visit as school kids,it was around the same time that i saw you on the telly with speckle and how you mentioned how solitary it was about being a lamper, never forgot that, and always enjoyed what you said or wrote about this crazy life atb to you c.w.
