blackgreyhound 206 Posted April 7, 2013 Report Share Posted April 7, 2013 the leveret was laying in the red clover in june when she first of all was chased .a young sxg coursed her to within a inch of her life .she was so strong and made of the right stuff she made her escape. over the next year or so foxes buzzards and lurchers tried to kill her .but to no avail.then one day in november the gypsies came with there champion sxg five out of five every time a real killing machine the course seemed to go on for ever .oh ah nearly he will catch her .the old gypsy smiled and thought back to his youth and to such a hare as this .never will he catch her she like him is special dont you see so incredibly special.she has been persecuted by buzzards foxes lamping lurchers she has had everything thrown at her but still she runs .dont be dissapointed that he never caught her remember this course cherish it in your memory as something special to think of in your old age something to forever to remember .never ever raise a gun to her never ever course her when in kit dont blind her with the lamp and dont course her in deep snow .give her the respect she deserves .if you love her as i do and your heart pounds with excitemeant watching the chase.look forward to the fall when your new dog is ready the dog you have groomed from 8 wks of age .the dog you have walked for hours the dog you have spent your last pound on to feed right .then on that day when he is ready to run .then once again you will watch the chase and you to will remember to give her the respect she deserves. because without that respect .there can be no hare and no course.i tell you this because i in my reckless youth i never gave her the respect she deserved and now i pay the price of my stupidity and disrespect.she is no longer there for any dogs to course. 2 Quote Link to post
