Sorley x 32
Wrong colour legs for a coot or moorhen, plus looks like there is a slight partridge colouration to feathers. I would guess a type of chicken. maybe something like this charcater http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Midnight1101.jpg Hopefully by now said poultry owner has taken suitable action Quote Link to post
Guest Ditch_Shitter
I'd say Coot too. Sub adult, probably. The whole body shape screams coot. The length and angulation of the legs too. Chickens just don't tend to have that length and angulation. Leg colour's no more wrong for a coot (which normaly exhibits grayish greeny legs) than it is for a chickens yellowy ones, is it? So we'll have to put that down to a trick of the light, I suppose. Most of all though; Download and blow the shot up and ye'll realise there's a Lot of white showing, beneath the foxes throat, which patently isn't part of the fox. Probably part of the bird then. And it appears to be part of the birds head. Are there any chickens with white on their heads? And legs like that. And that body form. And that colour? I'd be truly fasinated to be proven wrong and learn about a form of chicken hitherto unknown to me. But, untill then, I'd say coot. Obvious question is, I suppose; Any water bodys or known poultry collections in the vicinity of where that shot was taken? Quote Link to post
