All you read on here is pups for next season, pups this pups that. Do these pups ever grow into dogs? What happened to last seasons pups, did they make the grade? Is every saluki owner putting his faith in a pup cos you all have one. I think you all believe the hype and don't rate the dogs you've got. You all want a quick fix. Get a pup from a well known line and your a proper dogman. No, your a mug so all you guys with pups for next season, what happened to the last pup, is it the f*****g parent

 

 

Most will say it never made the grade.I would love to know what the grade is.And when a dog fails it.

What worries me is where do all these dogs go that didn't make the grade, I know some will pts but I bet far more get sold on.

I know mate. I'll bet most who think a dog hasn't made the grade lol are being told by others its no use. I knew a guy who'd go through dogs like a whore would condoms. We used to say to him, new dogs runs well, pity its got a big head or long back or anything, that would be the seed of doubt sewn lol. If the dog makes you happy, who gives a f**k?

I remember reading a post on here not long after I joined and it went along these lines

 

"WHAT DOGS DID YOU START THE SEASON WITH AND WHAT DID YOU END IT WITH???"

 

Can't remember the exact crosses but it went something like this:

 

"I STARTED THE SEASON WITH:

 

2 X BULL X GREY

 

1 X DEER X GREY

 

1 X WHEATON X BULL

 

2 X LAKIES

 

2 X PATT X JRT"

 

And then went on:

 

"AND ENDED THE SEASON WITH

 

2 X COLLIE X DEER X GREYS

 

1 X SPANIEL X COLLIE

 

1 X LAB X DEER

 

AND A GUN..."

 

Okay, I paraphrased that a little but that was the jist of it all - he started the season with 5-6 dogs and had an entirely different tribe at the end of the season... and by the start of the next he was probably dogless and into tropical fish...

 

Serious question? Do shooting men carry on in the same manner...changing, swapping, discarding dogs at the drop of a hat...ruining them and passing them on and on and on...

my three pups all bred by me for me grand mother 14 years old. mother 6 years old.next seasons pup 7 mounths old.

we not all swaping about but far no meny seem to be sad for the dogs involved

theres a hunting ban so your limited what you can post on here if people want to show off their pups for the coming season cant see a big issue if there were no posts like that this forum would just be slagging and moaning 24/7 mind you with some people its getting that way allready

Its not the issue of people showing next seasons stock , its the fact that a genuine question was asked about a lot of the pups from last year thats not crabbing or slagging . Most dog lads have dogs for life and some seem to change them with each season what is the reason ?

no idea cos i dont know anyone who does that youd need to ask the people who do. ive same dogs for life unless they dont make the grade or get seriously injured. but this site hasnt half become a bitch fest since the season ended every topic is slating someone or moaning about something the show off your pups ones are about the only ones that dont go sour (so far!) get out fishing or walking something that will use up your time better than worrying what other people have in their kennels

No matter how long youve been into the dogs,Having a pup on always gets you a bit excited hoping this is the "dog of a lifetime".

Watching it grow getting the bond,training,putting up with the chewing whining pissing.All the time looking forward to the windy night when you first take it out,feeling the pups heart beat through the string as you walk it to its first rabbit.

Ican see why lads want to put up a pic of there pup,Gets a bit tedious when a lad cannot even take hes pup a walk without putting up 20 photos though.
