lurchers1 0
why not try looking at other rescue centers, that deal with just one breed of dogs see how you get on with them. I have a few contacts in the Greyhound rescue world and i know i would get one with ease of these but i havnt really got a paticular breed in mind any dogs i get offered will all be considered on there own merit like...Head says something with a bit of chunk about it that i can have laugh with without bfear of it breaking but my heart says a greyhound again I just dont know.... hi fastdogz ther is a bedxwhipp on smoochers free to a good home might be worth a look, all the best L1

Guest Ditch_Shitter
Sweetheart, most of us are well enough aware of how ye are around ye Dogs. I've personally kept a Dogs in flats, storeys off the ground. What's so wrong about that, compared to being stuck out in a kennel and just taken out to be used as a tool? I walked my Dogs about fifteen miles a day, for chrisake! Never left my side. I too recognise the set in concrete attitudes to their own rules with most 'Rescues'. Ok if ye have a house with garden and no job, so ye can be there 24/7, till they reposess ye place and the poor Dog goes back onto the roundabout. But woe betide the loving owner who has to leave their Dog alone, mooching about the house and garden for eight hours a day, while they earn the money to provide the best food and medical care if needed, eh? Anyway, they're not All like that. Some put a permanent and loving, caring home before stricture. PM me if ye want a chat with someone who can probably sort ye out. I have her phone number

Guest Ditch_Shitter
how often did you walk 15 miles a day ditch? Most days of the week, mate. It's not that difficult. (Or wasn't! ) I was younger, fitter, had places to go and time to go to them. Now I'm a total wreck and it takes me an hour and a half to plod five miles. But even at my present rate it'd only take me four and a half hours, look. Back then I was fit as f*ck and walked faster than most people. I also hated public transport and have never learned to drive. So, living right up the southern end of southsea, a swift march up to cosham and back would take care of the best part of that distance. I guess maybe it helped that Pompey's flat? I never really thought about it, being born and raised there. Of course, thinking about it, I s'pose if ye habitually drive a motor, that'd be inconcievable? I've known drivers get in their motor to go a few hundred yards. It must become habitual. My habit was walking and my Dog always came with me. I was known as " The bloke with the Dog "!

Good luck with finding a dog, but of your not sure then maybe you should wait a little longer?. It must be hard, but you seem to love greyhounds, maybe they are the dog for you? Personally I think that a terrier is one dog that would not be suited to flat life unless its old and retired: a laid back lurcher would be by far the best bet: and if you have lots of time a deserving rescue which you could lavish your love and attention on is the one I'd go for: have you tried contacting Lurcherlink?
