dytkos 17,793
Every time we buckle to this type of shit its another nail in the coffin of our freedom Totally agree but, it's one thing saying it when its not on your doorstep, to actually being the person involved. I've been there in a different situation and in all honesty, I wish I'd never bothered as it cost me lots. Principles are great when your on top Sometimes its better to take the other option IMO Cheers, D.

baw 4,360
Time to realize the love for all things hunting is in the minority and getting smaller. Sharing what you do with the world or even family and friends isn't a good idea. If you crave pats on the back then your going to encounter friction along the way. People will use any excuse to get at you, here its an innocent to us photo but a sign of how our way of life is in decline. If you can be arsed with hassle then batter in, me, I prefer to remain in the shadows getting left alone. Amazes me why people are so interested in other people's life's. why people are so keen to tell everyone what they do on an hourly basis, what they do in there lifes. In all honestly, no one gives a f**k so why bother? Folk say its to keep in touch with far off relatives but they have over 100 friends all reading it. I just don't get it. There are loads of ways to keep in touch with folk without cataloging your life on a daily basis.
twobob 1,497
had a phone call of the police this morning asking for me and i said yeah that's me so he said just letting you know we're on our way down, (bit of an arse twitchier wondering wtf's up). they arrived and came in (arse still twitching), we've had reports that you have inappropriate pictures on your facebook profile so i asked what pictures and its hunting photo's of trips out with my 2 lads, holding dispatched game and the other holding my gun. they said its a serious matter and social services could be involved if it keeps up or i refuse to remove the pics so i removed them but advised them the pictures were taken on permission, its not against the law and in no way were they in danger ! i also told them that id rather them be into hunting and shooting rather than braking the law and getting in to pinching or drinking or some other illegal activity. but he said that's not the issue here and the problem is that the pictures were inappropriate and they are concerned in the welfare of the kids being brought up around guns there was no way in winning an argument with them so, just a word of warning and learn from my mistakes. WATCH WHAT YOU PUT ON HERE AND THE LIKES OF FACEBOOK You,ve done whats right for you mate, some times you,ve got to make a stand though if nothing you do is illegal, and as for them that think the ss wouldnt get involved did the ukip members get their foster kids back?or look at the cleveland child abuse scandal in

As soon as something comes out your lips or written down, you have no control of who will get it. We all do it. Someone tells you a secret they got told then finish by saying, don't tell anyone. But they were told the same and you won't be the only one told lol. Head down and get on with it.

skycat 6,173
I only joined FB to keep up with my niece over in Australia: she posts on there all the time, but to her it is a tool for her work: she's a musician and uses it to promote gigs etc. But I do think its a generation thing: in the days before t'internet etc no one saw the necessity of bleating on about the most trivial details in their lives to all and sundry. Photos were things to be put in albums and treasured as mementos and memories, not spread around for all to see. I mean, you wouldn't have sent off a photo of kids with guns and dead rabbits, for example, to the local paper, would you? Putting things like this on FB is, IMO, similar to advertising what you do: but WHY the need to do it? On another tack: people used to have private lives. Why has this changed? Is the need to expose their lives on FB, Twitter etc simply a fashion? Fashions don't make sense, they rely on people being sheep and following a trend in order to succeed. Just because millions of people do it doesn't mean that it is the right, sensible or good thing to do. Or it is notoriety? Fame? Do the people who use FB etc feel that they are garnering fans, that they are famous, just because they see their faces on a screen? Bit like being on TV? Just a few thoughts as I sit staring at this screen.

I look at the mates and the stuff on it is pretty sad. Folk putting pictures of their dinner on it etc. Why bother, do they really think anyone really cares? I prefer being unknown more than famous. It tickles me folk not knowing who I am on here and in real life, its good that people don't know much about you. I'm a c**t for not telling anyone unless they need to know. Lost count the many times the mate phones and says, nipping over you up. Aye but I'm in Glasgow lol.
paulus 26
new social media has the power to change the world we live in. be that for better or worse. given hunting is now seen as a sport (at best) and no longer a necessity for the majority in this country and many others across the globe , food is now born in shrink wrapped packs in the warehouse`s of all major supermarkets. this change will only get worse unless some natural or even un natural phenomenon occurs to change this thinking. its pointless trying to change this shift in attitudes, best to learn to live with it. whilst knowing that if the shit hit the fan you would at least have a head start on the majority.
